Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 13.5m beam and a 4.1m draft. The yacht is built over 5 decks with an internal volume of 2,562 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Construction started in late 2017. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in December 2020 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in April 2021.

Exterior Design

At 88.38m (290ft), Zen ranks among the largest private yachts Feadship has delivered in recent years and represents the Dutch yard at its most assured. De Voogt drew a profile that relies on extraordinary proportions instead of decorative flourishes. A near-vertical bow, long bands of glazing and four clean deck lines stretch almost the full length of the yacht before resolving into a broad open stern. The result is unmistakably Feadship, with a confidence that comes from restraint rather than complexity.

Zen belongs to a generation of large Feadships that explored new ways to organise life on board, yet her architecture remains unusually calm. The superstructure sits low against the hull, reducing the apparent height of 2,562GT, while the sharply angled buttress aft of amidships visually connects the lower and main decks and breaks up the sheer scale of the hull side. From a distance, the yacht appears remarkably long and balanced despite her immense internal volume.

The aft decks reveal where much of that volume has gone. A swimming pool occupies the main deck aft, directly above the beach club, so both levels work as one waterside destination. Below, the full-width transom lowers and fold-down terraces open to create a beach club that spans almost the yacht's entire beam. The wellness area sits alongside, allowing guests to move naturally between spa facilities, lounge spaces and the sea without climbing through the yacht.

Each upper deck has a distinct role. The bridge deck provides another generous entertaining space with lounge and dining areas, while the owner's deck becomes increasingly private. Forward, the owner's apartment opens directly onto its own foredeck with a Jacuzzi, sunpads and uninterrupted views ahead. Aft, a separate terrace provides another quiet outdoor retreat, physically removed from the guest spaces below.

Forward on the main deck, a certified helipad allows direct guest transfers while also serving as valuable open deck space between flights. Tenders remain hidden inside an enclosed garage, leaving the stern entirely free for leisure use. Wide side decks, broad companionways and curved exterior staircases make moving around the yacht feel remarkably straightforward for a vessel approaching 90 metres.

Interior Design

Zen's interior was developed by FM Architettura with Nauta Design, bringing together Italian architectural discipline and bespoke yacht craftsmanship. The design avoids obvious displays of luxury in favour of beautifully judged materials, careful proportions and natural light. Every room feels composed without appearing formal, giving the yacht the atmosphere of an elegant private home scaled to superyacht dimensions.

Large windows define the principal living spaces. Daylight washes across pale stone, textured wall finishes and warm timber, while darker joinery and bronze detailing add depth throughout the interior. Curved furniture, soft fabrics and bespoke carpets temper the strong architectural lines, producing rooms that feel comfortable enough for everyday family life despite their size.

The layout spreads social spaces across all five decks instead of relying on a single principal saloon. Formal entertaining, family gatherings and quieter moments each have dedicated settings, including multiple lounges, a cinema, poker room with opening balcony, dining areas and private sitting rooms. Different groups can occupy separate parts of the yacht at the same time without competing for the same spaces, a quality that becomes increasingly valuable aboard yachts of this scale.

At the centre of the yacht, a circular glass lift rises through a sweeping staircase with open timber treads and curved glass balustrades. It is one of the defining architectural features of the interior, connecting every guest deck while drawing natural light deep into the yacht. Corridors use textured finishes, geometric detailing and subtle lighting to create interest without distracting from the calm palette found throughout the guest areas.

The lower deck wellness centre follows the same approach. Rich timber, natural stone and muted colours create a genuinely peaceful setting, while the adjoining beach club opens directly onto fold-down terraces at the water's edge. The connection between interior spa spaces and the sea feels immediate, allowing the entire lower deck to function as one expansive waterside retreat.

Accommodation

Zen accommodates up to 16 guests in eight suites, with quarters for up to 25 crew. The arrangement reflects long-term private ownership, where several generations or multiple families can remain aboard together while still enjoying meaningful privacy.

The owner's apartment occupies much of the dedicated owner's deck. A forward-facing bedroom enjoys panoramic views through expansive glazing, while twin dressing rooms, generous bathrooms, private lounges and an art studio create a residence that feels entirely separate from the rest of the yacht. Outside, the suite extends onto a private foredeck complete with Jacuzzi, sunpads and secluded seating.

Guest suites occupy the main and lower decks and benefit from the same restrained detailing found throughout the yacht. Wide corridors, excellent ceiling heights and generous windows prevent the accommodation from feeling enclosed, while the extensive network of lounges, terraces and family spaces elsewhere aboard ensures guests naturally disperse throughout the day.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel MTU (16V 4000 M63L) 16-cylinder 3,046hp engines running at 1800rpm, motor yacht Zen is capable of reaching a top speed of 17 knots, and comfortably cruises at 14 knots.
