First Horizon FD100 Skyline Superyacht Sold to Experienced Australian Owner

Horizon Yachts has confirmed the sale of the first Horizon FD100 Skyline superyacht, with the inaugural hull purchased by an experienced Australian owner ahead of its planned public debut in Australia.

The Horizon FD100 Skyline introduces a new Skyline configuration to Horizon’s FD Series, pairing the platform’s established long-range credentials with a lower-profile superstructure and entertainment-focused layout.

The FD100 Skyline features exterior styling developed by Horizon Yachts, interiors by Cor D. Rover, and naval architecture based on the builder’s Fast Displacement platform.

A New Interior Approach for the FD100

The interior of the yacht follows a “Contemporary Nautical Luxury” theme, using high-gloss Koto wood, matte black finishes, brushed stainless steel detailing, and layered lighting effects. A major change for the series is the introduction of the FD100’s first open galley arrangement, placing cooking and dining spaces at the center of the main deck.

The Australian owner customized the yacht for long-range cruising with additional refrigeration, expanded storage areas, a walk-in cold room, and a dedicated steam room intended for recovery after fishing trips and time exploring remote locations.

The sale also marks an important milestone for Horizon, with this hull becoming the launch platform for the Skyline configuration. The owner secured the motor yacht before it reached the show circuit after identifying it as the closest match to a long-held vision developed through years of boating experience.

Lower Profile Styling Defines the Skyline Concept

The Skyline configuration gives the FD100 a different character from the existing Tri-Deck model by removing the traditional sundeck arrangement and concentrating entertainment spaces around the bridge deck level.

A bespoke black radar arch sharpens the profile while emphasizing a cleaner, more horizontal silhouette. Outdoor living centers around the split-use skylounge and bridge deck aft, where a custom bar and integrated Teppanyaki station create the main social area.

The focal point is a heated ten-person octagonal Jacuzzi with RGB lighting, surrounded by lounge seating and designed as the primary gathering space onboard. The superyacht also retains practical features such as a hydraulic swim platform and integrated tender garage for extended cruising.

Accommodation Tailored for Extended Time Afloat

Accommodation follows the FD100’s five-stateroom layout, including a full-beam owner’s suite positioned forward on the main deck and four guest cabins below. Selected guest cabins feature convertible arrangements that can switch between twin and double formats depending on cruising plans.

The arrangement suits the owner’s intended journey back to Australia, which is expected to begin with a stop in Darwin before continuing around the coastline and remote cruising destinations with family and friends.

The FD100 Skyline remains based on Horizon’s established Fast Displacement platform and is powered by twin MAN 2000PS engines paired with Side-Power stabilization systems for comfort underway and at anchor. The wider FD100 platform has previously reported top speeds of around 20 knots and a range approaching 2,000 nautical miles, supporting its position as a long-range cruising yacht.

The FD100 Skyline’s Place in the Fast Displacement Range

According to YachtBuyer MarketWatch, the largest yacht database in the world, the FD100 Skyline sits between the 33m Horizon FD108 and the larger 34m Horizon FD110 Tri-Deck, before the series reaches its flagship 38m Horizon FD130 Tri-Deck.

The Horizon FD108 has already gained industry recognition, collecting a win in the Main Salon category at the International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2024 and later reaching the finals of the Boat International Design & Innovation Awards 2025 for interior design.

Meanwhile, YachtBuyer reviewed the Horizon FD110 Tri-Deck and awarded it a strong 4.5 score, highlighting its interior volume, efficient cruising characteristics, engineering package, and flexible layout options. At the top of the range, the Horizon FD130 Tri-Deck expands the concept further with accommodation for up to 12 guests across six cabins and larger social spaces, giving buyers a clear progression through the FD lineup as size and cruising ambitions increase.

For Horizon, the sale of the first FD100 Skyline confirms early interest in the Skyline concept before the model has formally entered the show circuit, while giving the configuration its first owner story as it prepares for its move to Australia.
