Built by Australian shipyard Riviera, the new Riviera 645 SUV Series II continues the builder's SUV range, showcasing an expansive cockpit and blue-water cruising capability with open-plan living spaces designed for extended time aboard. Buyers can choose from flexible accommodation layouts, upgraded onboard technology and twin MAN diesel engine options.
A refined evolution of Riviera's SUV concept
The 645 SUV Series II builds on Riviera's established SUV philosophy, bringing together the open cockpit and offshore capability of the builder's Sports Motor Yacht range with the single-level living layout found aboard its Sport Yacht models. Rather than introducing an entirely new platform, Riviera has focused on refining one of its most successful designs, updating the interior styling while retaining the spacious layout that has defined the model since its debut. According to Riviera owner Rodney Longhurst, the Series II has been developed through an extensive refinement programme intended to create a yacht that is more functional, more luxurious and better suited to modern owners.
"The Series II is the result of an extensive refinement approach, creating an interior design andaesthetic that is both contemporary and timeless"

Outdoor living designed for entertaining and watersports
Much of the 645 SUV Series II continues to centre around its expansive cockpit, which can be configured for watersports, fishing or relaxed entertaining. A hydraulic swim platform extends the usable space at anchor, creating a waterside lounge while simplifying the launch and recovery of tenders and water toys. The protected aft deck features generous seating, a refreshment centre, Smart TV and opening sunroof, flowing directly into the saloon through large sliding glass doors and a lift-up awning window. Forward, a dedicated entertaining area provides additional lounge seating and sunpads for up to eight guests, creating another outdoor social space when cruising or at anchor.
Flexible accommodation offers greater owner choice
One of the most significant updates aboard the second generation is its redesigned accommodation deck. Owners can choose between three or four stateroom layouts, all centred around a full-beam master suite with a walk-around queen bed, chaise lounge, cedar-lined wardrobes and private ensuite. Riviera also offers the flexibility to replace the fourth guest cabin with a lower lounge, while buyers can specify either a dedicated utility room and laundry or an additional crew cabin. A VIP suite with ensuite and adaptable guest cabins complete a layout designed to suit both family cruising and longer voyages.
Twin MAN power paired with upgraded onboard systems
Power comes from a choice of twin 1,300hp MAN V8 diesel engines or twin 1,550hp MAN V12 diesels. The second generation also introduces a range of technology upgrades, including joystick manoeuvring, an integrated multi-camera monitoring system and Sentinel remote vessel monitoring. Buyers can further equip the boat with optional Starlink connectivity, Praxis Composite Solar charging technology and either Humphree fin stabilisation or Seakeeper stabilisation systems for enhanced onboard comfort.
Riviera continues expanding its luxury motor yacht portfolio
The launch of the updated series further strengthens Riviera's SUV range while highlighting the Australian builder's continued investment in evolving its model portfolio. Alongside the 645 SUV Series II, the range also includes models such as the 505 SUV, offering the same blend of bluewater capability and open-plan living in a more compact package. Riviera says it has delivered more than 6,300 handcrafted motor yachts over 46 years of production, with every model designed and built at its Gold Coast facility in Queensland. The 645 SUV Series II also benefits from Riviera's two-year express limited warranty, seven-year structural warranty and five-year MAN engine warranty.
Riviera's Series II programme reflects a wider trend across the premium motor yacht market, where builders are extending the lifespan of proven models through comprehensive redesigns rather than introducing entirely new platforms. YachtBuyer MarketWatch tracks these product updates alongside new launches, giving buyers a clearer picture of how each builder's range evolves over time and how refreshed models compare with both their predecessors and competing yachts.
