On Deck
Starting at the stern, there is a high low bathing platform with access down into both the engine room and the aft crew cabin. The passerelle deploys from the transom and sits neatly out of the way when not in use. Tender size was not confirmed at the time, but the platform is clearly designed to work as the main water level interface.
The aft cockpit is arranged around freestanding furniture rather than moulded seating. This means the layout can be reconfigured easily, including turning seating to face aft toward the water. A large glass transom window normally retracts fully, creating a clear visual line straight through the boat. With it raised, as filmed here, it still allows light and views while acting as a wind break. It makes this a very natural dining space with a strong connection to the sea.
To port sits a compact bar unit with fridge, sink and storage. On the starboard side is a full docking station with joystick control for the Volvo Penta IPS system, thruster controls and good visibility aft. Sliding glass doors open fully in either direction to link cockpit and saloon without obstruction.
Side decks are wide and well protected, with high bulwarks that are cut away at eye level so they do not block the view from inside. A drop down side window adds ventilation and airflow at the helm. The walk forward feels secure and very trawler yacht in character thanks to the overhang and proportions.
The bow features a proper forward cockpit. Seating is mounted on a cantilever system so it can be swivelled forward for sociable seating or moved aft to create a sunpad. Anchor handling gear sits neatly ahead. Out at sea, the cutaway bulwarks allow uninterrupted views over the water rather than solid GRP at eye level.
Up top, the flybridge is a large, adaptable space under a fixed hardtop. Seating uses removable armrests, allowing the area to be split into individual armchairs or left as open benches. A generous dining table sits centrally. The wet bar includes sink, fridge, ice maker, grill and a surprising amount of storage.
The upper helm is forward with lift up bolsters for seated or standing operation. Displays mirror the lower helm with full configurability for navigation, cameras and engine data. Joystick, thrusters and VHF are all to hand. Because the helm is right at the front of the flybridge, visibility is particularly strong.
Interior Accommodation
Stepping inside, the main deck feels more like a kitchen diner than a traditional saloon. The aft dining area uses proper freestanding furniture rather than fixed seating, which gives it a slightly superyacht feel. Large windows drop almost to floor level, filling the space with light.
The galley sits to starboard. There is a full height fridge freezer, dishwasher and all electric cooking. Storage is well thought through, including pan retainers that lock cookware in place so you can cook underway at low speed. Lower cabinets house bins and ice buckets, with further storage above for crockery and utensils.
Forward of the dining area, the saloon is treated as a separate lounging space. A deep sofa runs along one side and a television rises electrically from a cabinet at the back. Because this area does not need to double as dining seating, comfort is the priority and it shows.
The helm is forward with upright windscreens that are in the Navetta trawler style. A side door sits right next to the helm, reinforcing that this is a boat designed to be driven by its owner. Visibility through the wraparound glass is excellent. Twin Garmin screens handle navigation and engine data, supported by IPS joystick control and a bow thruster. Lighting is good and the helm position feels calm and well judged.
Electrical systems are clearly laid out. One panel handles all 230 volt AC services such as galley equipment and ice makers, fed by shore power or generator. A separate panel manages the 24 volt DC systems running from the batteries.
Owner's Cabin
The forward cabin is designated as the owner cabin, even though many builders now push the owner cabin amidships. Here it works well. Despite the tapering bow, the cabin retains a large footprint with full beam width where it matters. Big hull windows on both sides keep the space bright.
A dressing table sits to one side and the ensuite fits neatly into the forward section of the hull. The hull shape is noticeable but well managed and does not compromise usability.
Storage is a standout feature. A step down walk in wardrobe sits to starboard with hanging rails on both sides, drawers below, lighting throughout and a safe. Additional drawers and shelving are spread around the cabin. The finish leans heavily Italian, with book matched detailing and careful joinery throughout.
Guest Accommodation
Moving aft, a day heads sits to port, accessed via a pocket door that slides completely into the wall. This bathroom serves the third cabin opposite. That cabin is arranged transversely rather than fore and aft, which is unusual. By shifting the passageway across to one side, Absolute has created a genuinely usable double cabin with good headroom and a hanging locker. For a boat just over 18m, the packaging is very clever.
Further aft is the VIP cabin and it is a big one. Full wardrobe with safe, storage units along the hull side, bedside cabinets and integrated air conditioning vents give it a very settled feel. The ensuite is arranged with sink, shower and toilet zones neatly separated within the space.
With one large cabin at each end of the boat, it is easy to imagine two couples sharing ownership or cruising together, each convinced they have secured the better cabin.
In total there are three cabins and three heads, all nicely sized and well separated.
Crew Accommodation
Accessed from the bathing platform, the crew cabin is larger than expected for this size of boat. It includes two single berths, hanging locker, drawers, opening window and full laundry facilities. A compact heads includes shower, sink and toilet.
This is not a permanent crew boat, but the space works well for short term help, overflow guests or additional flexibility. An onboard inflation pump sits nearby, ideal for paddleboards and other inflatables.
Performance & Engine Room
The engine room is accessed from the aft cockpit and immediately impresses for its size. There is standing headroom, good space between the engines and clear access to all major systems. A large gyro stabiliser sits centrally and confirms earlier suspicions from the lower storage spaces.
Power comes from twin Volvo Penta IPS 1350 units delivering 1,000 horsepower each. Top speed is quoted at around 30 knots, which is notable for a trawler style yacht. Range figures given include approximately 340 miles at 19 knots and 305 nautical miles at 27 knots. At displacement speeds, range could approach 1,000 miles.
The engine room also houses the generator, fuel tanks, battery charging systems and a fully automatic fire suppression system with manual override. An emergency escape leads directly into the cockpit, providing a second exit route.
Ownership Considerations
Absolute sells through a global network of authorised dealers across Europe, North America and parts of Asia Pacific. These dealers handle commissioning, owner handover, routine servicing and warranty support locally. Absolute also operates a factory-backed aftersales support system used by dealers and approved service partners, which helps with parts, technical queries and warranty claims.
Warranty terms are agreed at point of sale rather than published centrally, so buyers need to check their contract carefully. Engine, drive and generator warranties are handled through Volvo Penta and other equipment manufacturers, meaning most mechanical servicing can be carried out worldwide through established service networks rather than Absolute-specific centres.
For routine ownership, this size of yacht fits comfortably into mainstream yards. Annual costs will centre on IPS servicing, gyro maintenance, generator and air-conditioning servicing, antifouling, anodes and general systems upkeep. The layout and access points make day-to-day maintenance straightforward for professional yards.
Refits fall into two camps. Smaller updates such as upholstery refreshes, electronics upgrades or exterior refinishing can be handled locally. Larger structural or interior refits benefit from yards familiar with Italian modular construction, particularly if bonded interior sections need removal. Parts availability is generally good but some components may need to be shipped from Italy, which can affect lead times.
Buyers cross-shopping in this space should also look at the Outer Reef 620 Trident Evo and the Beneteau Grand Trawler 62, both of which offer alternative takes on interior and owner-operator focus in the same size bracket.
In Summary
The Absolute Navetta 62 arrives as a strong first showing at its world premiere in 2025. It has three genuinely usable cabins, three heads, a great flybridge, adaptable cockpit spaces and an engine room that feels a size class up.
