Benetti B.Neos 40M Full Hybrid Superyacht Sold Ahead of 2028 Delivery

The 41m full-hybrid first Benetti B.Neos 40M superyacht has officially sold, with the buyer represented by Manuele Thiella, CEO of Royal Yacht International, and scheduled for delivery in spring 2028.

Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design is responsible for the exterior architecture of the Benetti B.Neos 40M, with interiors by Francesca Muzio of FM Architettura, while the hybrid engineering platform forms a central part of the yacht's naval architecture.

Francesca Muzio and FM Architettura have developed the interior around what Benetti calls "evolved simplicity", with less emphasis on formal separation between guest spaces.

The main deck runs from stern to bow without structural barriers interrupting the principal guest areas. An open-plan layout is intended to make movement between dining, relaxation and exterior spaces more natural, while maintaining strong sightlines towards the water.

A key feature on board the superyacht is the Sea Atrium, a glass-lined space connected directly to the aft pool terrace. Forward, the Family Kitchen creates a more informal setting for owners and guests, offering an alternative to the conventional separation between guest dining areas and the working galley. The kitchen can still be closed when a more traditional service arrangement is required.

Large areas of glazing run through the hull and superstructure, while transparent handrails reduce visual interruption around the deck edges. Vertical wooden slats have also been introduced across parts of the main and upper decks. The compact machinery arrangement has allowed Benetti to dedicate more space aft to guest use. The stern is centred around the pool terrace and Sea Atrium, creating a waterfront social area rather than a conventional enclosed beach club.

An observation deck sits at the top of the yacht, providing an elevated sunbathing area without adding the bulk of another full deck.

The B.Neos 40M accommodates 10 guests across five cabins. One of the most unusual elements for a yacht below 300 GT is the position of the owner's suite. Benetti has placed the wheelhouse forward on the main deck, allowing the upper deck to be largely dedicated to the owner.

The panoramic master suite includes a private study and dedicated lobby, with the accommodation opening onto a private forward terrace. Extensive glazing provides wide views around the suite while separating the owner's area from the yacht's principal guest spaces. The remaining four guest cabins are positioned on the lower deck.

At the centre of the B.Neos is a MAN Smart Hybrid system paired with twin MAN V8-800 engines. The system allows the yacht to operate in Zero-Emission and Hotel modes for electric cruising and quiet periods at anchor. Diesel-Electric and Crossover modes are designed to improve efficiency during longer passages, while Boost Mode provides additional torque when required.

Benetti states that the arrangement can reduce fuel consumption and emissions by up to 30% compared with a conventional motor yacht of similar size. Electric operation also removes generator noise, exhaust fumes and much of the vibration normally associated with machinery when guests are at anchor or moving at low speeds. Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design lists a projected range of 2,600 nautical miles at 10 knots for the B.Neos 40M.

The B.Neos sale comes during a busy period for Benetti. At the Cannes Yachting Festival this week, the yard unveiled the new Oasis 36M, a 296 GT model with an 82sqm aft deck and new bulbous bow developed to reduce hydrodynamic resistance. Elsewhere in the yard, the 80m custom superyacht Project Iron Man moved into the outfitting phase at Livorno in July ahead of its planned 2028 launch. The same month also saw the delivery of the 40m Oasis 40M Lady Sarah, following an ownership project that developed out of several years of yacht charter.
