On Deck

The Viking 92 Skybridge carries unmistakable American sportsfisher DNA, with its towering profile and aggressive lines. It’s the largest sportsfisher Viking has built, bridging the gap between superyacht luxury and pure sportfishing function. This isn’t just a pretty face either - it’s rigged for action.

Aft, the cockpit is a serious fishing arena with a tournament-style fighting chair, multiple rod holders, and live bait wells built into the transom. There’s a bait freezer and an ice maker close to hand, ideal for prepping and storing catch. A drop-down TV adds a bit of evening atmosphere when the rods are stowed and the drinks come out. Just forward, there’s a chill-out space that doubles as a clubby social hub after a day’s fishing - all under cover and connected to the galley and salon.

Access up to the bridge and skybridge is via both internal and external stairways. The bridge deck helm offers great visibility for navigation and docking, with joystick controls, multi-function displays, and fridge drawers tucked into the cabinetry. From here, steps climb up to the skybridge - a commanding lookout with another helm and full controls. It’s built for scanning the horizon for tuna or billfish, but with enough space that guests can join you up there too - not something you get on every tuna tower.

At the bow, the tender is stored on deck, lifted via a crane tucked neatly behind the forepeak. There are no full side rails - a classic sportsfisher cue - but a grab rail runs along the coachroof to give safe handhold as you move forward. It’s a blend of practicality and clean profile. The foredeck doubles as tender storage for when family or guests want to head ashore, making use of the 115hp Honda-powered RIB.

Interior Accommodation

Stepping inside, you’re straight into a deep, wide salon laid out for relaxed entertaining. There’s a lounge area, a formal dining table, a full wet bar with wine cooler, and a generous galley that runs beam-to-beam across the forward bulkhead. The flooring has a rich finish, and there’s plenty of refrigeration, a trash compactor, and a TV tucked in as well. Though temporary carpet covers were in place for the show, the full interior finish is considerably sleeker underneath.

To starboard, there’s a day head, and opposite that, a large pantry area - useful for provisioning and overflow storage. That space also hides a pull-out berth for extra guests or crew. It’s not an official cabin, but it works well as a bonus bunk - ideal for the occasional overnighter or teenage stowaway.

This is a big boat. Even by superyacht standards, the volume is notable, and it gives the interior the air of a luxury motor yacht - not just a decked-out battlewagon.

Owner's Cabin

The owner’s stateroom is located aft and takes full advantage of the boat’s beam. This is superyacht territory in both size and finish. There’s built-in cabinetry on both sides with extensive drawer space, ambient lighting integrated into the joinery, and an enormous walk-in wardrobe that feels like a private dressing room. A personal safe is tucked inside.

The ensuite bathroom is split across two compartments, with the toilet and shower arranged to provide each person a bit of private space. The central shower is large and cleanly designed, with quality fittings throughout.

Guest Accommodation

Guest accommodation runs down the lower companionway, starting with the VIP cabin in the bow. This cabin sits right up in the pointy end and includes a large double berth, AV setup with TV, a hatch overhead for natural light, hanging locker, and a private ensuite with shower and toilet.

A twin cabin sits midships, with its own ensuite and storage including wardrobe and drawer space. All guest cabins are fitted to a high standard, making it clear this is no stripped-out tournament boat. Another double cabin rounds out the guest suite lineup, and again feels closer to what you’d expect on a full-fledged motor yacht.

Crew Accommodation

There are two designated crew spaces. The first is the captain’s cabin, located just off the guest corridor. It’s been finished to guest cabin standards with a private ensuite, making it flexible enough to double as extra guest accommodation if needed. The arrangement reflects how this boat is often run - with a full-time captain and perhaps one extra freelance crew member brought on for longer passages or busy seasons.

The second crew cabin is aft, adjacent to the engine room. It includes its own storage and drawers, a separate heads and shower compartment, and laundry facilities with a washing machine nearby. This aft location is especially practical during long fishing days, keeping crew close to the cockpit and mechanical systems.

Performance

Down below, the engine room is accessed aft and lives up to the rest of the boat’s scale. The space is clean, bright, and laid out for serious maintenance access. There’s standing headroom for anyone up to 1.8m (6ft), and all key systems are clearly labelled and reachable. The main electrical isolators are located here, along with the watermaker and laundry appliances.

The machinery itself is all muscle. Twin MTU 2000 V16 engines deliver 2,635 horsepower each, driving conventional shafts through beefy gearboxes. This setup delivers a top speed of 35 knots, with a cruising speed around 28 knots and a rough range of 600 nautical miles depending on conditions. Generators and shore power converters are also in place, neatly arranged along the bulkheads.

The shaft-driven setup is traditional and robust - well suited for long-term reliability and big-mileage use. It’s built to be run hard, but serviced easily.

In Summary

The Viking 92 Skybridge is, in every sense, a hybrid of sportfisher aggression and superyacht comfort. Built in 2018, it remains one of the largest and most capable models in its class, fusing performance with volume and luxury. Whether you’re chasing marlin off Florida, cruising the Bahamas, or lounging dockside with friends and a cold drink, this 92-footer delivers presence, practicality, and flat-out fun in equal measure. A proper machine.
