Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 16.4m beam and a 4.4m draft. The yacht is built over 5 decks with an internal volume of 4,523 GT (Gross Tonnes). The design also incorporates a touch and go heli-pad.
Construction started in mid 2013. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in February 2017 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in July 2017.
Exterior Design
Kaos makes an immediate impression with her metallic blue hull, a striking colour known as Speed Blue, chosen to enhance the yacht’s sculptural curves and flowing lines. Designed by Igor Lobanov, the exterior was conceived to visually lower the yacht’s profile despite her impressive 110-meter (360.9-foot) length. Lobanov achieved this by incorporating optical illusions: smoked glass panels stretch along the superstructure to create the appearance of additional decks, while segments of teak decking that aren’t guest-accessible mimic usable deck space. These false layers are further highlighted by nearly 2 kilometres of LED strip lighting discreetly recessed under the overhangs, casting a soft, continuous glow that maintains the illusion even at night.
The superstructure itself is defined by sweeping, complex curves and a mix of materials that demanded meticulous construction. At the centre is a commanding white funnel structure, deliberately echoing traditional ship architecture and helping visually anchor the entire form into the hull.
At the aft end, a 35-square-meter (376.7-square-foot) fold-down transom door extends the beach club directly over the water. This area includes a wellness zone with a hammam, a gym, and a standout feature: an aquarium wall that peers into the swimming pool above. Just forward of this is the main aft deck, where a spacious 8.5-meter (27.9-foot) pool is framed by an outdoor dining area with seating for 14.
On the sundeck, guests can enjoy a private seating area and a spa pool positioned at the highest point of the yacht. Elegant curved stairs lead up to this peaceful retreat, which offers uninterrupted views across the foredeck. The foredeck itself is configured to accommodate an Agusta 109S GrandNew helicopter, supported by integrated firefighting systems, fuel storage, and a motorised tug for stowage positioning.
Launch and retrieval operations for the yacht’s full tender fleet are handled via cleverly hidden bulwarks with built-in LED lighting and glass detailing. The tender garage houses multiple custom launches, including two Wahoo SOLAS rescue tenders on the bridge deck and three additional boats on the lower deck: two more Wahoos and a Pascoe limousine tender.
Every aspect of Kaos’s exterior design reflects a careful balance between visual impact and functionality, from the unusually large deck heights disguised by layered detailing, to the seamless paintwork applied across its continuous curves.
From a bird's-eye view, Lobanov's vision for Kaos becomes apparent. The yacht resembles a topographical map of an island surrounded by a perfect sapphire sea.
Interior Design
The interior of Kaos was originally created by Sam Sorgiovanni and took inspiration from Casablanca’s rich mix of Arabian and European influences. That fusion shaped the yacht’s decorative style, seen in everything from its hand-picked materials to its crafted finishes. Decorative stonework features prominently, with more marble used on board than any other Oceanco yacht at the time of her launch. The entire fit-out follows the Passenger Yacht Code, with all marble mounted on honeycombed aluminum panels for fire safety compliance.
The bridge deck features Golden Spider marble as its dominant surface material, gradually transitioning to Iranian white onyx as you move upward to the owner’s level. This upward gradient of lighter stone creates a natural sense of progression throughout the decks. The floors, built on rubber foundations to reduce noise and vibration, support this calm, insulated atmosphere on board.
Other standout materials include bubbled Crystal Caviar glass insets in window mullions, custom silk carpets by German specialist Oliver Treutlein, and wood veneers with a thickness under 500 microns. These wood elements are found mainly on bulkheads, subtly adding warmth to the otherwise mineral-rich interior. In the owner’s suite and main lounges, large circular lighting features by Ben Demmers double as artistic focal points and practical light sources.
The main saloon covers 135 square meters (1,453 square feet) and combines comfort with theatrical scale. A large television occupies one end, while a throne-style armchair anchors the opposite side beneath a sculptural ceiling of gold-coloured aluminium ribbons. The ceiling above the main deck aft is a single seamless aluminium plane finished in a contemporary patterned surface and fitted with recessed LED downlighting.
Even the air-conditioning has been worked into the design: a bespoke chandelier in the central dining area cleverly conceals air outlets, while the oval shape of the table mirrors both the chandelier and the swirl pattern in the teak flooring beneath.
Following her 2020 redesign by Reymond Langton Design, the interior was refined with a more contemporary palette and fresh detailing, while retaining the original grandeur and commitment to quality. Across all spaces, from communal saloons to private lounges, the material selection reinforces the yacht’s layered design - opulent but never overstated.
Accessibility is fully integrated, with an elevator serving all five decks, extra-wide passageways, low thresholds, and lift systems for barrier-free movement throughout. Whether entertaining on a grand scale or relaxing in private comfort, Kaos's interior has been designed to perform beautifully on every level.
Accommodation
Kaos is configured to welcome up to 31 guests across 15 suites, following the Passenger Yacht Code. This includes four generous VIP cabins on the upper deck, arranged with access to a shared lounge and dining space, and 10 additional guest cabins located on the main deck. Each stateroom is uniquely detailed to maintain a sense of individuality and luxury, with full compliance to safety standards, including vertical escape routes from all watertight compartments.
The owner’s suite is set apart not only by size but also by its location. Spanning the uppermost levels of the yacht in a position traditionally reserved for the bridge, the suite commands sweeping views across the bow. It includes two private bedrooms and features its own dedicated entrance and exclusive access to the sundeck, ensuring a secluded retreat away from guest areas. The owner’s bathroom is finished in Iranian white onyx, in contrast with the warmer-toned marbles found throughout the guest decks.
Crew accommodation is positioned in the forward section of the lower deck and supports up to 39 crew members. These quarters have been outfitted to the same high standard as the guest areas, with an emphasis on comfort and functionality to support long-range cruising and full-service operations.
