Design & Construction

Designed around a full displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 8.3m beam and a 2.7m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 390 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Construction started in late 1999. She was delivered to her owners in September 2001.

Exterior Design

Lady Azul is a 39.4m (129.3ft) Heesen motor yacht, and her profile carries the balanced, purposeful look of an early 2000s Dutch displacement build. Designed by Omega Architects, she combines a dark blue steel hull with a white aluminium superstructure, so the contrast sharpens the sheer line and keeps the yacht looking long and composed on the water.

The bow is fine and slightly raised, while the superstructure steps back cleanly through three decks, and the glazing stays broad without becoming dominant. From the image, the wheelhouse windows wrap widely across the front, and the upper decks stay open and practical rather than overworked. Teak deck surfaces warm up the profile, especially around the aft decks and upper lounging areas.

The aft decks provide dining and lounge areas across multiple levels, while the sundeck adds sun loungers, a dining table and a four-burner gas barbecue. A beach club at the stern brings the yacht closer to the water, and this area works alongside the swim platform and passerelle for easy access when anchored.

Lady Azul was refitted several times, with major work in 2015, 2019 and 2021, and those updates extended to exterior systems, deck arrangements, awnings, lighting, teak and beach club detailing.

Interior Design

Inside, the Lady Azul yacht follows a warm, easy layout shaped for family cruising, and the interior by Paola D. Smith & Associates avoids anything too hard or formal. Large windows bring in light across the main deck and sky lounge, while the palette stays relaxed and practical for longer periods on board.

The main saloon combines lounge and dining functions in one open space, and this keeps the room social without feeling crowded. AV systems are integrated into the main saloon, master and sky lounge, while updated Crestron controls and Plex storage bring the technical side up to date. Throughout the yacht, refit work replaced or refreshed wall and ceiling panels, soft furnishings, cushions, curtains and lighting, so the presentation is cleaner and more current than the 2001 build date suggests.

The sky lounge adds a second interior social room on the bridge deck, with a bar, large curved television and wide windows, so it becomes a more relaxed gathering space away from the main saloon. Bar stools, ceiling liners, sofas and coverings were all updated, and drinking water filtration and AV systems were upgraded too.

A lower deck gym and dive centre give the yacht a more active edge, as well.

Accommodation

Lady Azul accommodates up to 10 guests in five staterooms, with one full-beam master on the main deck and four guest cabins below.

The master suite sits forward on the main deck, and surrounding windows give it broad sea views as well as stronger privacy from the guest deck below. It includes a super king bed, bar fridge, safe and a large en suite with separate shower, bathtub and double basins.

On the lower deck, two full-beam VIP cabins sit forward and aft, both with king-sized beds and en suites, while the aft VIP also includes a bathtub and bar fridge. Two twin cabins complete the guest layout, each with en suite showers. All cabins are air-conditioned and set up for longer stays, with entertainment systems and hostess call buttons included.

Crew accommodation allows for up to eight crew in four cabins, with three crew cabins forward on the lower deck as well as the captain’s cabin on the bridge deck.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (3412C DITA) 12-cylinder 825hp engines, motor yacht Lady Azul is capable of reaching a top speed of 14 knots, and comfortably cruises at 10 knots. With her 44,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 3,300 nautical miles at 10 knots. She has been fitted with stabilizers to increase on-board comfort when the yacht is at anchor, particularly in rough waters.

Amenities

The yacht features a well-equipped gym, allowing her guests to keep up their fitness regimes at sea. In addition, a generous beach club offers direct access to the ocean. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort.
