The 44.06m motor yacht Lumina was delivered to her owners in 2026 by Italian shipyard Benetti. Her interior design and exterior styling comes from the drawing boards of Giorgio M. Cassetta, while Benetti is responsible for her naval architecture.

Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 9.16m beam and a 2.31m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 471 GT (Gross Tonnes).
This was the fourth yacht built on the Class 44M design. Launched in June 2026 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was completed at Benetti's Viareggio yard in Italy where she was commissioned and delivered to her owners in August 2026.
Exterior Design
Lumina is the fourth yacht in Benetti's Class 44M series, a model that succeeds the Benetti Diamond 44M while retaining its proven 44.06m (144.7ft) composite hull. Rather than starting with an entirely new platform, Benetti and Cassetta Yacht Designers refined the design where owners spend most of their time, giving the yacht a cleaner profile, larger glazed areas, and a stronger link between the interior and the sea.
The profile remains unmistakably that of a classic displacement superyacht, with a tall raked bow, long foredeck, and balanced four-deck arrangement. Unlike many recent designs that rely on dramatic styling, Lumina achieves her presence through proportion. The long sheer line runs almost uninterrupted from bow to stern, while the superstructure sits comfortably within the hull rather than towering above it, giving the yacht a composed, timeless appearance despite her 471GT volume.
One of the biggest visual changes from the Diamond 44M is the treatment of the glazing. Long, uninterrupted bands of dark glass extend along the main and upper decks, while transparent fashion plates lighten the upper works and reduce the apparent height of the superstructure. In profile, the white deck overhangs appear to float above the glazing, stretching the yacht visually and giving her a more contemporary look without abandoning Benetti's established design language.
The photographs also reveal careful attention to circulation and deck planning. Wide side decks run the length of the yacht with few interruptions, making it easy to move between the guest areas. Forward, the foredeck is arranged as a series of distinct spaces rather than one large sunpad. A lounge sits immediately ahead of the bridge, followed by generous sunbathing areas, before the spa pool occupies the bow itself within a sheltered recess.
Aft, Benetti has chosen a different direction from the Oasis range. Rather than opening the hull with fold-down terraces, the Class 44M keeps a fully enclosed transom that conceals the beach club within the hull. This approach protects the space from weather, preserves the yacht's clean lines, and allows more enclosed interior volume without sacrificing access to the water.
The bridge deck extends well beyond the glazing below, creating deep shade for the aft dining area while visually reducing the height of the superstructure. Above, the 102m² (1,098ft²) sundeck is one of the defining features of Lumina. The layout divides naturally into dining, lounge, and sunbathing areas beneath a slim hardtop that appears to float above the deck on slender supports, leaving the space open and filled with light.
Construction also reflects the yacht's role as Benetti's composite flagship. Built entirely in CFRP, Lumina combines relatively light displacement with long-range capability.
Interior Design
Cassetta Yacht Designers created both the exterior and interior, giving Lumina a consistent feel throughout rather than treating each space as a separate project. Large areas of glazing draw daylight deep into the accommodation, while the lower bulwarks allow guests to enjoy uninterrupted sea views from the main social spaces.
The design moves away from the heavier timber finishes found aboard earlier Benetti models in favour of responsibly sourced FSC-certified woods and a lighter, more contemporary palette. The emphasis is on warmth rather than formality, with clean architectural lines, generous ceiling heights and wide circulation spaces that suit extended time aboard.
Environmental quality received as much attention as appearance. The yacht's climate-control system refreshes cabin air six times every hour, while the floating interior structure helps isolate guest areas from machinery vibration and noise. These systems work quietly in the background but play a large part in everyday comfort during long passages.
The main saloon flows naturally into the aft deck through wide sliding doors, while the bridge deck provides another large indoor lounge linked directly to the outdoor dining space. Together, the arrangement creates several distinct gathering areas instead of relying on a single main saloon.
Accommodation
Lumina accommodates up to eight guests across five suites and carries up to nine crew in five cabins.
The owner's suite occupies the forward part of the main deck, giving it privacy as well as direct access to the yacht's best views through large hull-side windows. The remaining guest accommodation sits on the lower deck, where four ensuite cabins provide flexible arrangements for family or friends.
Crew circulation remains largely separate from guest areas, allowing discreet service throughout the yacht. The bridge deck, main deck and lower deck layouts also create clear links between guest accommodation, social spaces and the exterior decks, making movement around the yacht simple whether underway or at anchor.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel MAN (V-12 1400) 12-cylinder 1,400hp engines running at 2300rpm, motor yacht Lumina is capable of reaching a top speed of 15 knots, and comfortably cruises at 14 knots. With her 60,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 4,100 nautical miles at an economic speed of 11 knots.
