Currently, the only model in the Bluegame BGF range, it is distinguished by a foil-assisted system between its twin hulls that reduces drag, increases stability, and improves fuel efficiency by more than 40 percent.
A New Chapter for Bluegame
Part of the Sanlorenzo Group, Bluegame has built a reputation for unconventional designs, most recently with its BGM multihull range. The BGF line pushes that thinking further, positioning itself as a next-generation platform for environmentally conscious performance. The BGF45 is the first model in the series and will premiere at Cannes between 9 and 14 September.

The BGF project builds on Bluegame’s work for the 37th America’s Cup, where the shipyard developed the BGH-HSV, the world’s first hydrogen-powered foiling chase boat capable of reaching 50 knots with zero emissions. While that vessel was a one-off design, the lessons learned have been transferred into a fully realized production model.
Hydrodynamics experts Mario Caponnetto and Francis Hueber, who played a central role in the boat project, are again working with Bluegame to refine the hull of the BGF45. Their input has shaped a design intended to push boundaries in efficiency and stability.
Foil-Assisted Performance
The BGF45 motor yacht uses a foil-assisted system positioned between its twin hulls. This reduces drag, enhances stability, and improves fuel efficiency by over 40 percent. Powered by twin Volvo Penta IPS engines, the yacht is expected to cruise comfortably above 30 knots, delivering speed with smooth handling.

Bluegame has collaborated with Volvo, Garmin, and Siemens to ensure the BGF45 integrates the latest in propulsion, navigation, and onboard technology. These partnerships align with the brand’s push toward reducing environmental impact while delivering high performance.
Onboard the BGF45: Design and Layout
Design responsibility for the BGF45 lies with Luca Santella, Bluegame’s head of product strategy, and Zuccon International Project. The multihull configuration provides significantly more volume than a comparable monohull, which the design team has used to create an open-plan interior. The yacht features two cabins, with a flexible third space that can be adapted to an owner’s requirements.

Outdoor living has also been emphasized. The layout of the catamaran includes a large sundeck and a beach area designed to maximize connection to the water, reinforcing Bluegame’s lifestyle-driven approach.

Alternative Cannes Debuts for Forward-Thinking Owners
For buyers drawn to the foil-assisted BGF45, three other models are set to debut at Cannes 2025 which, according to YachtBuyer Market Watch - the largest yacht database in the world - highlight similar themes of space, efficiency, and contemporary design.
The Sanlorenzo SX120 takes the crossover philosophy to a larger scale. At 35.58 meters, it accommodates ten guests across five cabins and features a panoramic owner’s deck and retractable pool. While larger than the BGF45, it follows the same idea of rethinking yacht layouts to maximize connection with the sea.

The Arcadia A80 offers a 23.98-meter platform centered on sustainability. Solar integration and widebody design emphasize efficient cruising, making it a strong alternative for owners who appreciate the BGF45’s focus on reduced impact. With expansive glazing and large deck areas, it favors natural light and extended time at anchor.

The Lazzara LPC 300, a 21.4-meter multihull, provides a more direct comparison to the BGF45. Its wide beam delivers unusual interior volume, including a full-beam lower deck with five staterooms and an owner’s suite with balcony. Entertainment spaces such as a flybridge hot tub and outdoor dining underline its lifestyle appeal.
