Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 13.2m beam and a 3.4m draft. The yacht is built over 4 decks with an internal volume of 2,165 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Construction started in mid 2021 with the keel laid under the project name 'Andromeda'. Launched in May 2023 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in June 2023.

Exterior Design

At 77.7m (254.9ft), Malia has one of the most distinctive profiles to emerge from Golden Yachts in recent years. Studio Vafiadis paired a sharp axe bow with long bands of dark glazing and clean geometric surfaces, creating a yacht that feels sleek despite her substantial 2,165GT volume. The elongated trapezium-shaped windows, low superstructure and carefully controlled proportions give her a strong visual presence whether viewed from the dock or at anchor.

The axe bow serves several purposes. It creates a striking silhouette, improves usable internal volume forward and accommodates a large foredeck that functions as both a helipad and a vast open-air event space. From above, the amount of exterior deck area becomes immediately apparent, with broad teak surfaces stretching from bow to stern.

One of Malia's most interesting features is the veranda deck above the bridge. This flexible space can operate as a lounge, gym, reception area or private entertaining venue. Large opening sections at either end allow fresh air to flow through the deck, creating the feel of an outdoor terrace while retaining the protection of an enclosed space.

The upper deck aft provides an excellent setting for outdoor dining, while the sundeck combines a Jacuzzi, bar, lounge seating and sunbathing areas with elevated views. Sports car-inspired windbreaks add a distinctive detail to the upper deck architecture, while a skylight above the pool introduces natural light into the deck below.

At sea level, Malia's beach club is a lovely waterfront retreat. Fold-down terraces open to port and starboard while the transom lowers aft, creating a broad platform that extends directly over the water. Furnished with lounge seating and a wet bar, the space also houses a hammam, sauna and massage room, giving guests a dedicated wellness area beside the sea.

Interior Design

Malia's interiors were developed by Studio Vafiadis and Massari Design, combining contemporary architecture with an enormous range of materials and finishes. More than 250 individual finishes appear throughout the yacht, including exotic woods, decorative stone, lacquered surfaces, bronze detailing and bespoke artworks.

The main and upper saloons make full use of the yacht's floor-to-ceiling glazing. Furniture is concentrated toward the centre of each room, allowing uninterrupted views through the windows. Mirrors integrated into the mullions help dissolve visual boundaries and increase the sense of openness.

One of the most impressive design elements is the treatment of the ceilings. Curved wooden slats flow across the overheads like sculpted waves, while concealed LED lighting sits between them to create depth and atmosphere after dark. The effect appears throughout the yacht and gives many spaces their own identity without overwhelming them.

The central staircase forms a dramatic focal point. Natural light filters down through the glass-bottom swimming pool above and into a custom Lasvit chandelier, while decorative metalwork inspired by a flowering cherry tree wraps around the stairwell. The combination creates shifting patterns of light throughout the day.

Art also plays a major role aboard. Contemporary pieces appear throughout the guest spaces, adding colour and texture to interiors that already contain a remarkable amount of detail. An elevator links the lower, main and upper decks, improving circulation and accessibility throughout the yacht.

The bridge is fitted with a Radio Zeeland integrated control and monitoring system, giving crew real-time oversight of the yacht's systems. Dynamic positioning capability allows Malia to maintain station without anchoring when conditions permit.

Accommodation

Malia accommodates up to 17 guests across eight cabins and carries up to 25 crew.

The owner's suite occupies the forward section of the main deck and is an impressive full-beam retreat. The axe bow configuration allows the accommodation to extend further forward than on many yachts of similar size, creating a particularly spacious arrangement. The suite includes a king-size bed, private office, seating area, vanity space and walk-in wardrobe, while large windows bring excellent natural light into the cabin.

Three further guest cabins sit on the main deck. These comprise two VIP suites with king-size beds and a twin cabin with a Pullman berth. Their location provides easy access to the yacht's main entertaining areas while also benefiting from generous views.

The lower deck contains four additional guest cabins, including two VIP suites, a double cabin and a twin cabin with a Pullman berth. Large windows and thoughtful proportions help these cabins feel bright and welcoming despite their position lower in the hull.

Crew accommodation is arranged across 14 cabins for up to 25 crew members. The scale of the crew facilities reflects Malia's size, guest capacity and extensive onboard amenities, supporting both private ownership and demanding charter programmes.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (3516E) 16-cylinder 3,433hp engines running at 1800rpm, motor yacht Malia is capable of reaching a top speed of 19 knots, and comfortably cruises at 15 knots. With her 269,190 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 6,500 nautical miles at an economic speed of 12 knots.

Leisure & Entertainment

A delightful dining experience awaits on Malia. The main salon offers a perfect setting for hosting formal dinner parties around an elongated dining table. The dining area showcases a luxurious bronze overhead design feature and abounds with comfortable seating, catering to up to 12 guests.

The veranda deck of the superyacht Malia provides exceptional versatility, seamlessly transforming into a lounge, gym, outdoor cinema, or a dedicated reception area for onboard events.

Wellness

Two glass-bottomed pools, a sundeck gym, and a spa are features of this superb yacht. The sea-level beach club comes equipped with a Finnish sauna, Turkish hammam, and a designated beauty and massage room.
