Design & Construction
Designed around a full displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 42' beam and a 12'6" draft. The yacht is built over 4 decks with an internal volume of 2,146 GT (Gross Tonnes).
The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in May 2024 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in September 2024.
Exterior Design
The exterior of M/Y Platinum is defined by a long, sculptural profile developed by Igor Lobanov, with careful attention paid to proportion, surface treatment, and deck-to-deck continuity. Built on a displacement hull with a high-tensile steel structure and aluminium superstructure, the yacht maintains a lean visual stance despite her volume.
To preserve that length visually, Lobanov introduced cutaway sections with outward-extending “tails” at the aft end of each deck, excluding the lower deck. These elements visually connect each level from the side view, elongating the profile and maintaining continuity between decks. Subtle sculptural twists in the superstructure forward of amidships add depth to the form and are highlighted through contrasting paintwork.
Colour plays a defining role in the exterior. Rather than a uniform white finish, Platinum uses a layered palette, with light metallic grey applied to accentuate the superstructure’s curves and reveal finer detailing. This contrast sharpens the yacht’s lines and avoids flattening the form.
Extensive use of glass is central to the exterior design. Glass balustrades wrap the decks, preserving sightlines and ensuring the main deck pool remains visually connected from multiple levels. Curved glass windbreakers are integrated around staircases between decks, while sliding glass windbreakers on the bridge deck aft provide protection for the seating area, which also serves as an outdoor cinema with a drop-down screen. The large, complex glass panels required dedicated wind-tunnel testing and certification due to their shape and scale.
Forward, glass is built directly into sections of the aluminium superstructure along the main deck bulwarks bordering the owner’s cabin, lowering the visual height of the bow and allowing uninterrupted sea views from the suite. The owner’s deck includes a private exterior area with sunpad and seating, direct access to the foredeck helipad, and a decorative water feature set into the sloped surface behind the helipad steps.
The main deck features a 6m x 2.5m pool, 1.3m deep, with a countercurrent system. The sundeck incorporates a recessed teppanyaki dining area for up to 15 guests, complete with telescopic extraction hoods, alongside lounge spaces. A touch-and-go helipad on the owner’s deck supports helicopter operations up to a maximum take-off weight of 4,500kg. All exterior decks are fitted with exterior air-conditioning systems to reduce ambient temperatures in hot climates.
Interior Design
Platinum’s interior was designed by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design and follows a contemporary interpretation of art deco, combining a monochrome palette with rich materials and detailed surface treatments.
Materials used throughout include Sahara Noir and Lasa White marbles, bianco rhino marble, platinum-leaf inlays, textured lacewood, leather detailing, and smoked oak flooring. Lighting is a defining feature, with crystal chandeliers and bespoke sconces incorporating gold and alabaster accents. Heated marble floors are fitted in selected areas to enhance comfort.
The main saloon is arranged as both a lounge and dining space, with seating for up to 14 guests. A dedicated bar is integrated into the space, while ceiling treatments include platinum-leaf detailing. Vertical circulation is handled by a panoramic glass lift connecting all decks.
Stairwells act as visual features in their own right, finished with embossed leather wall panels featuring wave-like patterns that echo the rhythm of the sea. This motif is mirrored externally in the teak deck design, inspired by traditional Portuguese calçada paving, combining dark wenge and light teak with varied caulking widths.
Wellness spaces are distributed across the yacht. The bridge deck houses a gymnasium and massage room, while the beach club incorporates a spa area with sauna and hammam. A fold-down balcony introduces natural light and ventilation into the wellness zone.
Accommodation
M/Y Platinum accommodates up to 12 guests across a well-balanced cabin arrangement designed to prioritise space and privacy.
The master suite is located on the owner’s deck and spans approximately 100 square metres. It includes a private study, his-and-hers bathrooms, generous dressing areas, and panoramic forward views. The suite has direct access to a private exterior area that connects to the foredeck helipad.
A full-beam VIP cabin is positioned on the main deck and includes its own dressing area and en suite bathroom. An additional VIP or guest cabin is also located on the main deck, with an adjacent staff cabin to support flexible operation.
Further guest accommodation is arranged on the lower deck, with all cabins featuring en suite bathrooms and dedicated dressing rooms. The layout reflects a deliberate focus on storage and wardrobe space to support extended stays.
Crew accommodation includes 11 cabins holding up to 25 crew on the lower deck, along with a large crew mess. The captain’s cabin is located on the bridge deck and includes an office with direct access to the wheelhouse.
