  • Full-height beach club
  • Sea View Terrace design
  • Spa pool foredeck

Design & Construction

Designed around a full displacement GRP hull and a carbon fibre/grp superstructure she features a 7.98m beam and a 2.05m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 300 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Construction started in early 2019. This was the first yacht built on the Grande Trideck design. Launched in January 2021 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in April 2021.

Exterior Design

Tanelorn is an Azimut Grande Trideck, a 38.2m (125.4ft) superyacht that takes a different approach to space planning than most yachts in this size range. Alberto Mancini's design centres on the model's distinctive "Three Decks + One" concept, which adds a raised aft terrace between the main deck and beach club. This Sea View Terrace sits five steps above the main deck and creates a cascading arrangement of outdoor spaces that step gradually down towards the water. The arrangement also frees enough height below to create a full-height beach club, rather than the lower ceiling heights often found in this area.

The profile combines substantial internal volume with a surprisingly light appearance. A strong character line runs from the stern towards the bow, adding visual tension to the hull sides, while extensive glazing breaks up the yacht's mass. Floor-to-ceiling windows stretch along much of the main deck and merge into a sharply angled windscreen, creating a continuous band of dark glass through the centre of the profile.

Carbon fibre construction plays a major role in the design. Azimut built the entire superstructure from carbon fibre, reducing weight aloft by around 30 per cent compared with traditional construction methods. This allows larger glazed areas, helps lower the centre of gravity, and contributes to the yacht's balanced stance despite her considerable beam and volume.

The stern arrangement is one of the Grande Trideck's defining features. The 30m² (323ft²) Sea View Terrace acts as an elevated outdoor lounge, while beneath it sits a beach club of similar size that opens on three sides when at anchor. A sheltered Private Patio sits between these areas and the main saloon, creating a protected outdoor lounge that remains connected to the interior.

Forward, the foredeck incorporates a lounge area with a hydromassage pool, sunpads and seating arranged within the flush deck layout. Above, the sundeck adds another social space with a spa pool, bar and flexible furniture arrangements.

Interior Design

Achille Salvagni's interior for Tanelorn is far softer and more sculptural than the yacht's sharp exterior lines suggest. Almost every major element has rounded edges, from the sweeping sofas and occasional chairs to the cabinetry, ceiling details and bulkheads. The result is an interior that feels calm and informal rather than architectural or highly structured.

The main saloon is arranged as a true lounge space rather than a formal reception room. A large curved sofa anchors the seating area, while loose furniture can be moved to suit different uses throughout the day. The decision to relocate formal dining to the upper deck becomes obvious here, freeing the entire main deck for relaxation and socialising. Floor-to-ceiling windows on both sides bring in huge amounts of natural light, and the low furniture preserves uninterrupted views across the water.

Material choices are deliberately restrained. Pale oak flooring, cream upholstery, soft grey carpets and light-toned wall panels create a bright atmosphere, while high-gloss dark cabinetry introduces contrast without dominating the space. Salvagni avoids heavy decorative detailing, instead relying on shape, texture and carefully layered materials to create visual interest.

The owner's suite continues the same approach. Large hull-side windows draw the sea directly into the room, while freestanding furniture and curved joinery soften what could otherwise be a very large space. The cabin feels more like a waterfront apartment than a traditional yacht stateroom, helped by the absence of bulky built-in furniture and the generous circulation space around the bed.

Throughout the yacht, ceiling panels feature recessed circular detailing that echoes the rounded furniture below. Combined with the curved seating, flowing cabinetry and uninterrupted sightlines between spaces, the interior has a consistent design language that runs from the main saloon through to the accommodation spaces.

Accommodation

Tanelorn can accommodate up to 10 guests across five staterooms, with accommodation for up to six crew in four cabins.

The owner's suite occupies a prime position on the main deck, benefitting from the yacht's full beam and large side windows. Four guest cabins are located amidships on the lower deck, where the Grande Trideck's substantial beam allows generous cabin dimensions.

The Grande Trideck platform was also offered with an optional six-cabin arrangement, replacing the upper deck service galley with an additional VIP suite. However, the standard configuration centres on the five-cabin layout with the owner's suite on the main deck and four guest cabins below.

Crew accommodation for six supports operation of the yacht while allowing guest areas to remain separate from service spaces.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel MTU (16V 2000 M96) 16-cylinder 2,600hp engines, motor yacht Tanelorn is capable of reaching a top speed of 23 knots, and comfortably cruises at 20 knots. With her 22 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 1,700 nautical miles at 12 knots.

Amenities

In addition, a beach club allows for easy access to the water and allows those on board to easily unwind. The yacht features a tender garage with storage for a range of toys and accessories. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort. The sundeck is the social hub of the yacht and an inviting spread of sunpads.
