Design & Construction
Designed around a semi-displacement aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 8.54m beam and a 2.04m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 433 GT (Gross Tonnes).
She was delivered to her owners in October 1998.
Exterior Design
Themis has the kind of profile that defined Trinity Yachts during the late 1990s and early 2000s. Long, lean, and unmistakably American, the yacht combines a fast-looking aluminium hull with the scale and deck volume expected from a serious long-range cruiser. Ward Setzer of Paragon Design drew the exterior lines, and many of the styling themes that later became Trinity trademarks already appear here.
The sheerline begins high at the bow and sweeps aft in one uninterrupted movement before stepping gradually down toward the cockpit and swim platform. Oval hull windows mark out the owner’s suite forward, while long overhangs on the bridge deck and sundeck stretch the profile visually and add significant outdoor living space. Even now, the yacht still looks purposeful underway, with more of a performance-yacht stance than many displacement yachts of similar volume.
Deck circulation was clearly a priority from the beginning. Wide walkaround side decks remain fully usable despite the large skylounge above, which keeps crew movement practical during docking and gives guests an easy route from stern to bow. That balance between operational thinking and guest comfort became one of the reasons Trinity’s early Legend series gained attention so quickly.
Outdoor living spreads naturally across several levels. The aft main deck combines shaded dining with direct access to the cockpit and water-level areas below, while the bridge deck aft forms a quieter lounge space protected behind glass side screens. Up top, the sundeck remains one of the yacht’s strongest exterior spaces. A spa pool sits beneath the mast structure beside a wet bar, open sunpads, lounge seating, and casual dining space, creating an upper deck that still feels generous by modern standards.
The foredeck carries the yacht’s tenders and operational equipment cleanly without overwhelming the profile, and the aluminium construction keeps the yacht relatively light and agile for her size.
Interior Design
Themis carries a rich late-1990s American superyacht interior, though later refit work has softened parts of the original styling and brought in a cleaner, brighter atmosphere. Mahogany and African pear wood joinery run throughout the guest spaces, paired with marble flooring, polished cabinetry, warm fabrics, and nickel-plated detailing added during the 2015 refit.
The main saloon feels substantial in scale, arranged around multiple seating groups that create more intimate conversation areas within the larger room. Large picture windows pull in natural light along both sides, helping offset the darker timber finishes. Forward, the formal dining area sits beneath detailed ceiling panels and soft lighting, continuing the yacht’s balance between classic luxury and comfortable long-term livability.
The skylounge has a more relaxed atmosphere and became one of the yacht’s defining entertaining areas from the beginning. A large granite-topped bar, panoramic glazing, lounge seating, entertainment systems, and direct access to the bridge deck aft give the space the feel of a private club lounge rather than a secondary saloon.
One of the yacht’s strongest architectural details remains the central guest lobby. Finished in marble with sweeping staircases connecting the decks, it acts as the heart of the interior layout and gives the yacht a strong sense of arrival and scale as guests move between levels.
The 2015 refit refreshed much of the guest-facing interior. New furnishings, carpets, wall coverings, LED lighting, artwork, marble vanity units, and updated soft goods modernised the atmosphere while preserving the yacht’s original character and craftsmanship.
Forward on the main deck, the galley was designed to commercial standards from the outset. Multiple ovens, twin microwaves, large refrigeration capacity, warming drawers, extensive work surfaces, and dedicated preparation areas support extended cruising and large-scale onboard entertaining with ease.
Accommodation
Themis accommodates up to 10 guests across five cabins, with the layout centred around a substantial full-beam owner’s suite positioned forward on the main deck. Entered through a private office, the suite includes a king-size bed, lounge seating, vanity area, cedar-lined walk-in wardrobes, and split his-and-hers bathrooms. One bathroom features a large spa bath while the other centres around a spacious shower arrangement.
Guest accommodation is positioned on the lower deck and arranged around a central marble lobby that helps separate the cabins from the main circulation areas onboard. Two VIP cabins feature king-size beds, while two twin cabins complete the layout. All guest cabins include en suite bathrooms, entertainment systems, cedar-lined storage, and large portlights that help bring natural light into the lower deck spaces.
Crew cabins for up to 9 are positioned forward with a dedicated crew mess area, while the captain’s cabin sits aft of the bridge for direct operational access. The chief engineer’s cabin is located close to the engine room and dive room aft, reinforcing the yacht’s practical engineering-focused layout.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (3512B) 16-cylinder 2,250hp engines running at 1925rpm, motor yacht Themis is capable of reaching a top speed of 24 knots, and comfortably cruises at 20 knots. With her 70,976 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 1,727 nautical miles at 12 knots. She has been fitted with stabilizers to increase on-board comfort when the yacht is at anchor, particularly in rough waters. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.
Amenities
A gym with all the latest equipment allows her guests to keep their workout routines while at sea. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort. Themis also features a deck jacuzzi for cooling off.
