Next-Gen Absolute 52 FLY Yacht to Make British Motor Yacht Show Debut

The next-generation Absolute 52 FLY is set to appear at the 2026 British Motor Yacht Show, bringing one of the Italian builder’s most closely watched flybridge models to Swanwick Marina from May 14-17.

At just under 17m, the Absolute Yacht sits in a competitive part of the market, where owners expect genuine cruising ability, three-cabin accommodation, and usable deck space without moving into a much larger yacht.

For UK buyers attending the appointment-led show, its appearance gives a clear look at how Absolute has developed the 52 FLY across three generations.

A Proven Name With a Newer Layout

The 52 FLY name has been part of Absolute’s Flybridge range for more than a decade, with earlier versions launched between 2014 and 2017, followed by a second-generation model from 2017 to 2022. The latest version, now in production, is longer than both the first-generation Absolute 52 FLY and the second-generation Absolute 52 FLY - however, it carries forward the same three-cabin, six-guest format.

The current model is built in GRP and powered by Volvo Penta IPS, with planing performance and reported speeds in excess of 30 knots. It also holds a strong awards record, including wins at the 2025 Motor Boat Awards in the Flybridge up to 60ft category and the 2024 Yacht Style Awards in the 15-18m motor yacht class.

A Layout That Maximizes Volume

The lower deck is central to the yacht’s appeal. Absolute positions the owner’s cabin forward on a mid-deck level, which leaves room for a full-beam VIP cabin amidships. A third twin cabin, two bathrooms, and optional aft crew space complete a layout that feels unusually generous for a sub-55ft flybridge yacht.

The main deck follows Absolute’s familiar aft-galley format, linking the cockpit and salon through sliding doors and a drop-down window section.

Large side windows, natural ventilation, and a bright dining area give the interior much of the open feel that has become a key part of the model’s identity.

A Flybridge Layout Focused on Usability

The 52 FLY’s exterior layout is equally important. The cockpit uses modular furniture and open aft sections to create strong water views, while the hydraulic bathing platform adds practical value for swimming and tender use.

Forward, the foredeck is one of the model’s strongest areas, with a split sofa and sunpad layout, a hi-lo table, and canopy shading. The flybridge of the motor yacht adds another major living space, with room for free-standing furniture aft, a wet bar, a dining area, sunbathing space, and a two-seat helm.

Positioned for the Owner-Operator Market

The British Motor Yacht Show is designed around serious buyers rather than scale alone, making the Absolute 52 FLY a natural fit for the Swanwick display. The model sits in a size range that remains highly relevant for owner-operators, particularly those seeking a yacht with manageable dimensions, IPS handling, and enough accommodation for family cruising.

Its appearance at BMYS also places it alongside direct rivals from brands such as Azimut, Princess, and Sunseeker, giving buyers a useful opportunity to compare layout, deck space, helm design, and overall value in one location. For a closer look at how it performs, read and watch the full review video below:

Proven YB 5-Star Performers on Show at BMYS

According to YachtBuyer MarketWatch, the largest yacht database in the world, the Absolute 52 FLY will not be the only YachtBuyer-reviewed model at this year’s British Motor Yacht Show. Two YachtBuyer Hall of Fame yachts are also currently set to attend: the Princess X80 and Sunseeker Manhattan 55. Both achieved a perfect YB 5-star score, placing them among a small group of production yachts recognized through independent review and sea trial assessment.

The Princess X80 earned its place for its enclosed upper deck, flexible four or five-cabin layout, main deck owner’s suite option, and 30-knot performance. The Sunseeker Manhattan 55 was praised for its class-leading flybridge, rich interior finish, three-cabin layout, and owner-operated cruising credentials.

Other YachtBuyer-reviewed models listed for BMYS include the Sunseeker 90 Ocean, Sunseeker 76 Yacht, Sunseeker 75 Sport Yacht, and the Azimut Fly 68, giving buyers a strong field of tested models to compare at Swanwick.
