Due to be delivered in 2029, Amels 8007 is a 80m motor yacht built by Dutch shipyard Amels. The yacht's elegant exterior design is by Espen Oeino, while her interiors are the work of Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design.

Key Features

  • Dedicated owner's deck
  • Forward helicopter deck
  • 200m² sundeck
  • Large sundeck Jacuzzi

Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 12.3m beam and a 3.6m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 2,175 GT (Gross Tonnes).

This was the seventh yacht built on the Amels 80 design. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. She was completed at Amels' Damen Shipyard Galati yard in Romania where she was commissioned and delivered to her owners.

Exterior Design

Amels 8007 carries Espen Øino’s familiar Amels 80 profile, but there is quite a lot going on beneath what initially looks like a fairly restrained shape. The hull rises strongly towards the bow while the superstructure steps back in stages above it, so the yacht carries considerable height and internal volume without presenting one tall slab of structure.

The render makes the aft half particularly interesting. Three guest decks open progressively towards the stern, with deep overhangs above each terrace and broad external stairs connecting the lower levels. Rather than concentrating all outdoor life on the sundeck, the Amels 80 spreads it vertically through the yacht.

At water level, the stern opens onto a low bathing platform with a long run of steps back up to the main deck. Above it, the main-deck terrace projects well aft of the hull structure, while the decks above become progressively more open. It creates a clear transition from enclosed interior spaces amidships to increasingly outdoor-focused areas towards the stern.

Long strips of dark glazing do much of the visual work along the profile. The main and upper decks use almost continuous window bands, while the white deck edges sweep upward around them. Those curved edges help link the individual levels, particularly amidships where the yacht could otherwise look very tall.

The upper decks are drawn well inside the hull beam. That leaves broad perimeter decks and terraces around the superstructure while also reducing their apparent mass from the side. The highest guest deck is especially light visually, with extensive glass beneath the roof and relatively little solid structure around it.

A foredeck helipad is part of the Amels 80 arrangement, keeping helicopter operations away from the main aft guest areas. It is a useful example of how the Limited Editions platform combines large-yacht operational requirements with the more residential deck spaces farther aft.

The sundeck covers around 200m² (2,153ft²) and includes a large Jacuzzi. Its position high above the more sheltered terraces below gives the yacht several quite different outdoor settings rather than repeating essentially the same seating arrangement on every deck.

Accommodation

Amels 8007 will accommodate up to 14 guests, with accommodation for 20 crew plus the captain.

The dedicated owner's deck is the most important part of the guest arrangement. Rather than placing the owner alongside the principal main-deck guest spaces, the Amels 80 gives them a separate level, increasing privacy while freeing more of the main deck for guest accommodation and shared rooms.

The 14-guest capacity also places the yacht beyond the conventional 12-guest layout used on many large private yachts. Exact cabin numbers and arrangements for 8007 have not yet been published, so it would be premature to assign the remaining berths to particular cabin types.

Crew provision is unusually substantial, with space for 21 including the captain. On a yacht designed for extended private use at this scale, that gives the owner scope to run a full hotel, deck and engineering complement without squeezing crew accommodation simply to create another guest room.

Performance & Capabilities

Motor yacht Amels 8007 is capable of reaching a top speed of 16 knots. She has a maximum range of 5,000 nautical miles at 12 knots.
