Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 24'5" beam and a 8' draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 245 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in mid 2016 with the keel laid under the project name 'Tenggiri'. This was the fifth yacht built on the Darwin 102 design. Launched in June 2019 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was completed at Cantiere delle Marche's Cantiere delle Marche yard in Italy where she was commissioned and delivered to her owners in July 2019.
Exterior Design
Cape Cod II brings together the character of a true explorer vessel with the refined styling of a luxury yacht. Built by Cantiere delle Marche, her exterior lines balance practicality with presence. The hull design, developed by naval architect Sergio Cutolo of HydroTec, features a sharp entry that swells into a wide, voluminous body before tapering gently at the stern.
The hull is finished in a muted tone that enhances her purposeful, go-anywhere stance. On deck, that explorer DNA is clear. The main aft deck provides a classic seating and dining area, but with robust, thoughtfully arranged hardware that makes life easier for the crew without compromising aesthetics.
Further up, the upper aft deck serves a dual purpose. It’s fitted with a crane rated to lift 2 tonnes (2.2 tons) and typically carries a Williams 565 tender. But once the tender is in the water, the space transforms into a relaxing outdoor lounge or sunbed area. It's an adaptable space, shaped by how and where the yacht is cruising.
The sun deck pushes firmly into luxury territory. A hot tub sits forward, paired with a barbecue station and open lounging areas. Interestingly, both the aft main deck and the forward portion of the sun deck can be enclosed. The main deck enclosure is heated, making it a usable space even in colder climates. While the sun deck can’t be heated due to its open rear, it still adds a flexible zone that’s usable in a wide range of conditions.
At water level, the aft swim platform is fitted with a transformer lift system that raises for direct dock access or lowers to become a stepped entry into the sea.
Interior Design
Step inside Cape Cod II and the rugged exterior quickly gives way to a warm, high-end interior. From the aft deck, sliding glass doors lead into the main salon on the main deck, where soft furnishings and elegant finishes create an inviting social space. This particular yacht is unique among the CdM 102 series in placing the owner’s cabin forward on the main deck, a layout choice that makes immediate sense for ease of access and enhances the flow between living areas.
The salon is laid out to accommodate both relaxed gatherings and more formal moments, with large windows drawing in natural light. Practicality is woven throughout the design. Even small details, like the television installation, have been neatly integrated for unobtrusive living.
Forward of the salon is the bridge, designed for function-first navigation. Dark tones support night-time visibility, and the layout is clean, direct, and focused. Wing stations on either side allow for confident docking, while the helm area retains a strong, professional feel.
Behind the bridge sits the captain’s cabin, as you’d expect on a yacht of this class. Below, the galley is far larger than one might anticipate, especially given its placement on the same level as the main salon and owner’s suite. It’s well equipped for serious cruising, with the kind of space and facilities you’d want on long expeditions.
Further down, the crew mess is a sociable, comfortable space where up to five crew members can sit and dine together. It reflects the yacht’s commitment to supporting the people who run her. Utility areas are equally well-considered. The lazarette, for example, holds two washers and two dryers, and includes the shore power converter, which supports seamless global cruising.
There's also a water maker on board, and dive operations are supported with an air compressor stored in the bow. The lazarette can double as a dive centre, with direct access to the swim platform.
Accommodation
Cape Cod II is laid out with long-range comfort in mind, starting with the rare decision to place the owner’s suite on the main deck. Spacious, quiet, and easy to access without stairs, it offers a level of convenience that many owners will appreciate. The cabin benefits from wide views and smart spatial planning, helping it feel both generous and private.
Below deck are four guest cabins: two doubles and two twins, one of which includes a Pullman berth to boost sleeping capacity. The layout is straightforward and effective, designed for both charter or private use. Finishes are tasteful and storage is plentiful, including a corridor with surprisingly large capacity.
Crew accommodation is practical and well arranged, with two dedicated cabins housing up to six crew in total. Located near the galley and crew mess, this setup supports smooth operations on board during extended cruising periods. The thoughtful crew layout is also a key contributor to the yacht's compliance with LY3 regulations, which promote safety, livability, and professional working standards.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (C18) 680hp engines, motor yacht Cape Cod II is capable of reaching a top speed of 13 knots, and comfortably cruises at 11 knots. With her 10,580 gallon fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 4,500 nautical miles at 11 knots.
