Delivered in 2016, Galaxy of Happiness is a 174'11" motor yacht built by Latvian shipyard Latitude Yachts. The yacht's elegant exterior design is by Coste Design & Partners, while her interiors are the work of Latitude Yachts.
Design & Construction
Designed around a trimaran composite hull and superstructure she features a 57'3" beam and a 4'9" draft. The yacht is built over 2 decks with an internal volume of 299 GT (Gross Tonnes).
She was delivered to her owners in July 2016.
Exterior Design
The 53.3m (174.9ft) trimaran Galaxy of Happiness is immediately striking in profile, her silver hull gleaming like a spacecraft moored among more traditional silhouettes. The yacht’s trimaran configuration defines her form and function alike, bringing efficiency, stability, and speed into balance. Her lines are long and flowing, tapering into a winged superstructure that looks as aerodynamic as it is sculptural. Unlike many monohulls of her size, Galaxy of Happiness sits on three slender hulls – a main central hull flanked by two outriggers precisely engineered to deliver lift at speed through what designer Jean-Jacques Coste calls a “wing tunnel effect.”
Her hull and superstructure are built entirely in composite, combining carbon fibre, fibreglass, epoxy resin, and polyurethane foam using Gurit’s Sprint infusion process. The post-cured result is exceptionally light yet strong, helping to achieve high speeds with minimal drag. Latitude Yachts in Latvia built the yacht alongside her sistership Galaxy, each created from separate female moulds rather than a shared one. The 17m (55.8ft) beam provides immense stability and a broad working platform at sea, allowing the yacht to perform confidently in rough conditions that would ground many monohulls.
On the aft deck, Galaxy of Happiness centres life around a large entertainment space fitted with deep sofas, generous sunpads, and a tiger-eye stone dining table for twelve. The transom folds open to reveal a beach club at the water’s edge, while the compact sundeck carries a spa pool and bar – smaller in footprint than a typical upper deck but still designed for easy outdoor living. Her clean decks, metallic tones, and taut surfaces give the yacht a purposeful, almost futuristic appearance, yet the focus remains firmly on practical performance rather than aesthetic flourish.
Interior Design
Inside, the trimaran’s narrow hulls naturally limit volume, but the layout feels open and well-lit, aided by full-height windows and an opening skylight above the main saloon. The glass itself is dimmable LCD, allowing the light to soften at the touch of a switch.
Red-tinted mahogany floors and cherry joinery finished in a warm varnish add richness to the otherwise minimalist styling. The contrasts are deliberate: the cool silver of the exterior set against a warmly toned interior. Two carbon-fibre staircases connect the decks, one of which is framed by a sculptural carbon arch that gives a nod to Coste’s background in performance sailing design.
Every piece of furniture was created by Coste Design & Partners to fit the yacht’s unusual geometry, while the overall décor was executed in-house by Latitude Yachts. Fresh air flow was also prioritised – the cabins feature opening portholes and doors so natural ventilation can replace air-conditioning when conditions allow, another carry-over from the sailing catamaran world that inspired much of Coste’s approach.
Accommodation
Galaxy of Happiness offers accommodation for up to 6 guests in 3 suites. She is also capable of carrying up to 6 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience. Accommodation is arranged across both hulls, with the master suite and a guest cabin aft, and another guest cabin located amidships. The design was originally tailored for private use, capable of hosting a large family. Each guest cabin carries three berths, though they could be adapted into twin or double layouts depending on preference.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel MTU (16V 2000 M94) 16-cylinder 2,600hp engines running at 2450rpm, motor yacht Galaxy of Happiness is capable of reaching a top speed of 30 knots, and comfortably cruises at 24 knots. With her 4,755 gallon fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 2,300 nautical miles at 24 knots.
Amenities
Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort. Galaxy of Happiness also features deck jacuzzi which provides excellent views.
