Currently under construction at the shipyard’s Pisa facility, the 49.8-meter superyacht is scheduled for delivery in the second half of 2028 and has been developed in collaboration with ELIE SAAB and Tommaso Spadolini.
Introducing the Maiora Supernova 50
The Supernova 50 represents a new direction for Maiora, extending the shipyard’s experience into the displacement superyacht segment below 500 GT.
Its exterior lines and general arrangement have been developed in collaboration with Tommaso Spadolini and ELIE SAAB, with the project combining Spadolini’s naval architecture and yacht design experience with the fashion house’s approach to contemporary interiors and lifestyle.
Built with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure, the Supernova 50 measures 49.8 meters in length with a 9.05-meter beam and a gross tonnage of 499 GT. The yacht accommodates 12 guests in six cabins, including an owner’s suite on the dedicated Owner’s Deck and a further five guest cabins.
We did not simply want to build a 50-metre yacht; we wanted to create a yacht capable of expressing our vision of hospitality, comfort, and quality of life on board.

The layout of the new Supernova 50 is designed around privacy, circulation, and a close connection between interior and exterior spaces, with outdoor areas distributed across five decks.
The interior styling carries the ELIE SAAB signature under the creative direction of Elie Saab and Carlo Colombo, incorporating pieces from the ELIE SAAB Maison collection alongside bespoke elements developed for the yacht.
Maiora Supernova 50 Highlights
One of the defining features of the Supernova 50 is its Owner’s Deck. The private suite benefits from 180-degree views and opens onto a forward terrace, creating approximately 90 square meters of combined interior and exterior space.
The arrangement gives the owner a more secluded area away from the principal guest and social spaces.
At its heart, Supernova 50 is deeply personal: a yacht designed for family, shared experiences and the pleasure of living beautifully at sea, wherever the journey takes you.

The guest accommodation also places an emphasis on private outdoor access. Two of the five guest cabins on board the motor yacht are configured as suites on the main deck, with each opening onto a private terrace of approximately seven square meters. One of these suites extends to around 30 square meters.
At the stern, the beach area is designed as an extension of the yacht rather than simply an access point to the water. A transformable arrangement incorporates a swimming pool and fold-down side wings, while space for a large tender is integrated without removing the area’s connection to the sea.
Outdoor living continues across the yacht’s five decks, creating a series of terraces for dining, relaxation and socializing. The wheelhouse is positioned on the Sun Deck alongside the captain’s cabin, providing uninterrupted views forward and reflecting the yacht’s intended role as a long-range cruising platform.
Powered by twin MAN D2862-LE489 engines, the Supernova 50 has a reported top speed of 16 knots and a cruising speed of 11 knots. Its stated range at 11 knots is 4,150 nautical miles, supporting Maiora’s positioning of the yacht as a vessel designed for longer-distance voyages rather than solely coastal cruising.
Further Maiora Developments at Cannes
The Supernova 50 was not the only development discussed by Maiora at the Cannes Yachting Festival, with the shipyard also highlighting further projects across its existing range.
The Maiora M38 and Maiora M30, both designed by QuartoStile, form part of the brand’s continuing development of its smaller yacht portfolio. The Maiora M53, meanwhile, has been developed with Luca Dini, adding another design direction to the shipyard’s current lineup.
Together, the projects demonstrate the breadth of Maiora’s current design program, spanning new yacht concepts and established model families while the Supernova 50 introduces the brand to a different construction category.
The new 50-meter yacht is being built at Maiora’s Pisa shipyard in the SIMAN facilities, with production, outfitting and completion coordinated across the Next Yacht Group’s facilities in Pisa and Viareggio.
