Design & Construction
Designed around a semi-displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 9m beam and a 3m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 498 GT (Gross Tonnes).
The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards.
Exterior Design
The 43.4m (142.4ft) Leonardo III is a full-displacement Royal Denship yacht built in steel at Aarhus Vaerft and delivered in 2009. Diana Yacht Design handled the exterior, naval architecture and marine engineering, giving the yacht a classic long-range profile with a high bow, substantial freeboard and layered aft decks.
Her profile is clean and conservative rather than showy. The white hull and superstructure are broken up by long dark window bands, vertical hull ports and soft curves around the upper decks. From the side, the yacht’s volume reads clearly, but the stepped superstructure and rounded overhangs help reduce bulk.
The bow is long and open, with a sheltered forward lounge set into the foredeck. The overhead view shows a broad teak area with built-in seating and a shaded central feature, creating a private spot away from the aft decks. The raised bow shape and full displacement hull reinforce her offshore cruising role.
Aft, Leonardo III has tiered guest spaces across the main deck, upper deck and sundeck. The stern opens into a practical watersports area, with the garage holding toys and dive gear while the swim platform extends into the water. The tender sits alongside when deployed, keeping the aft deck clear for guest use.
The sundeck has a large circular Jacuzzi sits forward, flanked by lounge seating and soft cushions, while the hardtop creates shade over the central deck. The area has a broad, open feel, with dining and lounging zones running aft under the mast structure.
Accommodation
Leonardo III offers accommodation for up to 12 guests in 5 suites comprising an owners cabin, 2 double cabins and 2 twin cabins. She is also capable of carrying up to 9 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (3508 B) 1,998hp engines, motor yacht Leonardo III is capable of reaching a top speed of 14 knots, and comfortably cruises at 12 knots. She has a maximum range of 5,413 nautical miles. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.
