Design & Construction
Designed around a semi-displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 8.1m beam and a 2.72m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 338 GT (Gross Tonnes).
This was the first yacht built on the 40 Metre Yacht design.
Exterior Design
About Time is a Sunseeker 40 Metre Yacht with a strong semi-displacement profile, a long foredeck, and the model’s familiar sweep from bow to stern. The hull and superstructure are finished in white, while the dark glazing bands sharpen the profile and visually stretch the yacht’s 40.02m (131.29ft) length. Her bow is fine and raked, and the sheer stays clean right through to the stern, so the whole yacht has a fast, low, composed stance.
The main deck is one of the key parts of About Time’s layout, as both port and starboard balconies fold out from the salon and open through full-height glass doors. A third balcony sits forward in the owner’s suite, which sets this yacht apart from other Sunseeker 40 Metre builds. Those terraces add real usable deck space and also bring the water much closer to the interior.
Aft, the hydraulic passerelle leads down to a powered swim platform and garage area. The garage is built into the transom so the stern stays clean when shut, and when open it provides storage for the 5.79m (19ft) Aquascan tender, two jet skis, and additional toys. The aft main deck itself has lounge seating and direct access into the salon, while broad side decks run forward to the bow.
The bridge deck aft forms one of the yacht’s main outdoor entertaining spaces, with alfresco dining, a wet bar, refrigerator, sink, dayhead, and outdoor TV. Curved sliding glass doors allow this area to stay open in good weather or enclosed when needed, and the loose furniture gives the deck more flexibility than a fixed arrangement.
Forward, the bow has a large social area with U-shaped seating and a dining table, while the foredeck beyond remains practical for anchoring operations with bollards, winches, and a bosun’s locker integrated into the layout. At the top, the sun deck combines a bar, convertible dining table, freestanding loungers, a large sunpad, and a Jacuzzi, with umbrellas for shade and direct stair access down to the decks below.
Interior Design
The interior of About Time uses a bright contemporary layout and a high-spec finish, and it was heavily customised at build and further updated in 2024 and 2025. The main salon is wide and open, helped by the floor-to-ceiling aft doors and the fold-out balconies to either side. Lounge seating sits aft, and the dining area lies forward, so the room reads as one long social space rather than two separate compartments. A display panel on the forward bulkhead serves as artwork as well as a television.
The skylounge works as a second salon and a more relaxed social hub. An L-shaped sofa wraps around the port side, a full bar sits opposite with glass storage, and a rise-and-fall TV allows the room to shift between lounge and cinema use. The curved sliding glass doors lead straight out to the bridge deck dining area, so the upper deck can work as one connected inside-outside space.
The bridge is finished to the same high standard and fitted with four large multifunction displays, twin captain’s chairs, and side access doors to port and starboard. A prep area sits just aft of the helm, as well as a dayhead and access to the bridge deck guest cabin. This arrangement keeps the operational side efficient while still giving the bridge deck good guest utility.
The galley is properly set up for longer cruising and charter use, with Miele ovens, a six-burner Hafele hob, microwave, Miele dishwasher, Sub-Zero refrigeration and freezer drawers, and a dedicated prep area for service. A dumbwaiter links the galley to the bridge deck, so meals and drinks can move upstairs quickly and discreetly. Below, the crew mess has its own Miele refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, and direct links to the service areas.
Accommodation
About Time accommodates up to 12 guests across six en suite staterooms, with crew accommodation for up to eight in four cabins.
The owner’s suite sits forward on the main deck and makes full use of the yacht’s beam and elevated position. A king-size bed sits centrally, with a desk area to port and integrated storage throughout. Large side windows bring in light, and the private fold-out balcony forward adds another layer of privacy and outside access. Forward of the bedroom, a walk-in wardrobe leads to the en suite, which sits a few steps below and includes a double vanity, bathtub, rainfall shower with bench, toilet, and bidet.
On the lower deck, two large VIP suites sit aft and each has a double bed, dressing area, substantial storage, and an en suite with double vanity, walk-in rainfall shower, toilet, and bidet. Forward of these are two more guest cabins. One has twin beds on sliding tracks plus a Pullman berth, while the other has a central double bed. Both have en suites with separate showers and good natural light through the hull windows.
The sixth guest cabin is on the bridge deck and benefits from its own elevated position and privacy away from the lower guest area. It includes large windows, a desk, wardrobe, mounted TV, and an en suite with double vanity and shower.
Crew accommodation is reached by a separate staircase near the galley and includes a captain’s cabin plus three twin crew cabins. The crew mess has lounge seating and a large TV, and the laundry setup sits aft near the garage with two Samsung washer-dryer sets.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel MTU (12V 4000 M93) engines, motor yacht About Time is capable of reaching a top speed of 25 knots, and comfortably cruises at 10 knots. With her 31,910 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 1,500 nautical miles at 12 knots. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.
Amenities
In addition, a swim platform provides easy access to the ocean. Crowning the yacht is a spacious sundeck with an inviting spread of sunpads and deck jacuzzi which provides excellent views.
