Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 37'1" beam and a 11' draft. The yacht is built over 4 decks with an internal volume of 1,300 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Construction started in early 2000. She was delivered to her owners in November 2002.

Exterior Design

At 65m (213.3ft), Wedge Too presents an instantly recognisable profile with rounded, almost sculptural lines that break from conventional superyacht form. Her steel hull and aluminium superstructure demonstrate Feadship’s engineering precision, while Philippe Starck’s design challenges expectation at every turn.

The exterior’s shape is defined by long, high bow sections that flow cleanly aft, merging into a layered superstructure with smooth, curved transitions between decks. The stern quarters are particularly striking, fitted with vast upward-opening garage doors to port and starboard that reveal generous water-level spaces.

Starck’s use of asymmetry and rhythm continues along the main deck. On the starboard side, the spacing between the large rectangular windows gradually tightens toward the stern, a subtle visual cue mirrored on the port side to maintain harmony. The effect gives Wedge Too a distinctive sense of movement, even when still.

The upper decks are rounded off with a minimalist mast and an elliptical sunshade, their simplicity in deliberate contrast to the intricate hull below. Consistent with Starck’s philosophy of restraint, there are no built-in benches or bulky deck structures. Instead, each open area is designed to be furnished flexibly with loose teak pieces, creating adaptable spaces for social gatherings or quiet relaxation.

At the stern, a full-beam hydraulic bathing platform folds down to create a generous beach area that connects guests directly to the sea. Above, the clean teak decks and natural wood tones continue the yacht’s balance of practicality and sculptural beauty, with exterior details that echo traditional craftsmanship while remaining distinctly modern.

Interior Design

Across four decks, Philippe Starck developed a spatial rhythm that moves from generous open saloons to intimate private quarters. The lower deck houses the crew and guest cabins, while the three decks above become progressively lighter and more open toward the sky.

Each of the three upper decks features a saloon, decreasing in scale as they rise. This arrangement allows each level to take on a distinct personality - from large entertaining spaces below to more intimate lounges near the bridge. The main deck hosts the formal dining saloon, where smaller tables replace a single grand setting, allowing flexible layouts for gatherings of different sizes.

Three pantries, each connected by a food lift to the main galley, make service practical and efficient. The upper deck serves as the owner’s private domain, with a family saloon aft and additional accommodation for staff or family forward. On the bridge deck, the final saloon occupies the aft section, while the forward area houses the pilothouse, radio room, and captain’s cabin.

Throughout the interior, warm anigré panelling is paired with teak floors. The furnishings were mostly designed by Starck’s studio and blend a mix of periods and styles, from classical French references to bold modern shapes. The result feels collected and personal rather than curated, reflecting a home lived in rather than a showpiece.

Across the yacht, Carrara marble is used with restraint, providing a calm counterpoint to the warm wood tones. Starck’s distinctive silver-framed portholes and playful detailing remind you that every element was considered for both its function and its personality.

Accommodation

Wedge Too can host up to 18 guests in nine staterooms distributed across three decks, offering a mix of private spaces and easy access to shared lounges.

The master suite occupies the forward section of the owner’s deck, offering a full 180° panorama through wraparound windows that flood the space with natural light. At its centre sits the bed, positioned to face the horizon, backed by a wall of geometric gold-leaf panels. The suite includes two large shower rooms finished in understated white Carrara marble and three walk-in wardrobes. A French writing desk cleverly conceals a TV, blending practicality with refinement.

On the main deck, three VIP staterooms extend forward of the dining saloon. Each is identical in layout and finish, featuring anigré panelling, marble bathrooms, and ample storage. Four further double staterooms occupy the lower deck, echoing the same materials and detailing. Their portholes are accented by large silver circles, a visual signature that ties the interior back to the yacht’s bold exterior design.

Crew accommodation for 21 lies forward of the engine room on the lower deck.
