Delivered in 2021, the Feadship yacht features naval architecture and exterior design by De Voogt Naval Architects, with interiors by FM - Architettura di Interni, and has also claimed a World Superyacht Award.
Somnium’s interior is shaped by a clear narrative inspired by the Galápagos Islands, expressed through color, texture, and material choice rather than overt decoration. The main saloon on the yacht for sale introduces this theme immediately, with carpet patterns referencing lagoon waters and ceiling marquetry designed to echo light moving across the sea surface. Bronze details, leather finishes, and layered textiles bring warmth without excess, keeping the spaces calm and livable for extended family use.
Furniture throughout the yacht was custom designed, including distinctive seating pieces and sculptural tables that reference natural forms. The dining area continues the island influence through bronze coffee tables and bespoke lighting elements, while textile art panels by London-based artist Helen Amy Murray add depth and tactility. On the upper deck, the lounge is arranged around a semi-circular sofa intended as a relaxed family gathering space, described by the designers as a cocoon for movie nights and downtime.
Somnium’s exterior stands apart from typical full-displacement yachts of her size through her all-aluminium construction and automotive-inspired detailing. Designed by De Voogt under the direction of Ruud Bakker, the profile draws subtle influence from high-performance cars, visible in the long bow, flowing deck lines, and aft deck forms that recall rear diffusers.
One of the defining features of the motor yacht for sale is the expansive foredeck terrace, developed from a simple request for a forward-facing bench into a 100-square-metre outdoor area. This space now accommodates sunpads, seating, and flexible arrangements for social use, including a protected sunbed with its own windshield.
Aft, the decision to position the tender garage forward has freed space at the stern for a beach club, gym, and a large adjustable-depth swimming pool overlooking the transom, reinforcing the yacht’s family-focused deck layout.
Somnium accommodates up to 12 guests across six cabins, arranged to support multi-generational use. The owner’s suite is located on the main deck and includes an off-center bed, private seating area, balcony, and a panoramic office with wide sea views. The design prioritizes privacy and usability, with soft tones and antique-style mirrored finishes adding depth.
On the lower deck, guest accommodation includes a mix of doubles and a dedicated children’s cabin with bunk beds designed to remain suitable as guests grow older. Crew quarters accommodate up to 13 across seven cabins, maintaining Feadship’s typical standards for separation, circulation, and onboard efficiency during longer voyages.
Built with a full-displacement aluminium hull and aluminium superstructure, Somnium was conceived for long-range cruising with reduced draft. Powered by twin MTU 10V 2000 M72 engines producing 1,224hp each, she reaches a top speed of around 15 knots and cruises comfortably at 12 knots. Her range extends to approximately 4,970 nautical miles at 10 knots, supporting extended itineraries without frequent refuelling.
Somnium is listed for sale on YachtBuyer and is currently asking €57,500,000.
