Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 14.1m beam and a 4.2m draft. The yacht is built over 6 decks with an internal volume of 3,000 GT (Gross Tonnes). The design also incorporates a heli-pad.
The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in January 2015 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in May 2015.
Exterior Design
Symphony measures 101.5m (333ft) in length, with a beam of 14.1m (46.3ft) and a draft of 4.2m (13.8ft), spread across six massive decks and boasting an internal volume of 3,000 GT. Her hull is crafted from steel, while the superstructure is aluminium, bringing together robust engineering with a sharp focus on comfort and aesthetics. Symphony was the longest yacht Feadship had delivered at her launch, and remains instantly recognisable for her sleek profile.
The exterior, designed by Tim Heywood, balances traditional yachting features with forward-looking elements. A gently concave clipper bow, finished in high-gloss Flag blue, evokes the style of classic yachts and lends the vessel a sense of timelessness. This traditional bow flows aft to a hull with divided sheer lines - the lower line drops to the main deck bulwark, while the upper line continues aft, adding visual length and dynamism.
Modern accents are woven into the design, with polished stainless steel used for the sculptural mast and a wave motif inspired by a dolphin’s tail, giving the profile a sense of movement. The exterior staircases feature mirror-polished supports, subtly illuminated by sophisticated LED lighting for a striking nighttime effect.
Guest comfort while still being a function yacht was an essential considerations in the layout. Large hatches at water level, a forward helipad, and a generous aft deck contribute to the yacht’s versatility. The main deck aft is centred around a substantial swimming pool, measuring 6m (19.7ft), and additional outdoor spaces include a private owner’s terrace with spa pool and sunpads. Throughout the exterior, stainless steel details and carefully selected lighting create a distinctive and welcoming ambience.
Symphony is finished to Lloyds Register technical standards and was designed from the outset to comply with the Passenger Yacht Code (PYC), enabling her to accommodate a larger number of guests with robust safety measures in place. Her deck structures and materials meet the latest fire safety criteria, with extensive testing carried out during construction.
Interior Design
Stepping inside Symphony, you encounter interiors that draw inspiration from Bali, Thailand and Africa, thanks to a collaboration between François Zuretti and Peter Marino. The result is a layered mix of textures and colours, combining bronze, satinwood, bamboo, palm and banana leaf, natural silk, textured leather, and large-plank rough parquet. These materials work together to create an atmosphere that feels both luxurious and welcoming.
A key feature throughout is the abundant use of glass, particularly in the main living areas, where floor-to-ceiling windows start just 20cm (8in) above the floor and stretch up to the ceiling. This generous glazing ensures uninterrupted sea views and floods the saloons and dining areas with natural light, enhancing the yacht’s connection to the water.
The main deck houses spacious living and dining areas that open to the aft deck and the infinity-edge pool. Hand-scraped French oak floors invite guests to walk barefoot and relax. The dining area and library are set up to maximise views, making these spaces ideal for quiet moments or entertaining.
A standout interior highlight is the glass lift, which serves all guest decks. The shaft is fitted with a video wall that offers two immersive settings - either an aquarium or a cosmic outer space view - creating a memorable journey between floors.
Health and wellbeing are prioritised on board. Symphony features a spa with steam room and sauna, a massage room, beauty salon, and a fully equipped gym. Designer Tim Heywood created a tranquil water feature, known as ‘the beach’, which flows into a spa pool surrounded by sun pads, with resin-embedded ripples and sculpted ‘sand’ under clear water for a calming, beach-like effect.
Every aspect of the yacht’s internal layout was crafted to combine visual appeal, comfort, and practicality, with careful attention to noise reduction. Even at full speed, guest areas remain impressively quiet.
Accommodation
Symphony is configured to welcome up to 20 guests in absolute comfort, with accommodation split across generously sized cabins and suites. On the main deck, six double guest suites and a full-beam VIP stateroom provide refined and flexible options for family and friends. The three forward-most cabins can be joined to form a private family apartment, offering added seclusion and adaptability for longer stays.
Each guest suite has been designed for privacy and relaxation, with detailed craftsmanship, panoramic views, and thoughtful storage. The full-beam VIP stateroom offers additional space and expansive windows, giving guests a sense of connection to the outside world.
The entire upper deck is dedicated to the owner’s suite, which features his-and-hers studies, en suites, and dressing rooms. The owner’s bedroom delivers sweeping 360-degree views, and direct access to a private terrace fitted with a spa pool and sunpads. This layout ensures the owner’s quarters remain a personal sanctuary, separated from guest areas for maximum privacy.
She is also capable of carrying up to 27 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by 4 x diesel MTU (16V 4000M 73) 3,433hp engines running at 1970rpm, motor yacht Symphony is capable of reaching a top speed of 22 knots, and comfortably cruises at 16 knots. With her 256,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 5,500 nautical miles at 14 knots. She has been fitted with stabilizers to increase on-board comfort when the yacht is at anchor, particularly in rough waters.
Wellness
Referred to as 'the beach' by designer Tim Heywood, a water feature runs serenely into a spa pool surrounded by seating and sun pads. The 'sand' on the sloping surface is captured in clear resin and sculpted into ripples as on a beach; with water flowing across the sand and around the pebbles, the effect is natural and restful. Silence throughout the yacht was a key requirement to the build brief and all guest areas are remarkably quiet providing a very relaxed environment. A gym, beauty salon, and massage room complete the health and wellness facilities onboard.
