German builder Lurssen proudly delivered the world's 30th longest yacht, Kismet, in April 2024. Less than a year earlier, Launchpad had set sail as the world's 35th longest yacht.
Kismet accommodates 16 passengers with a crew of 37, while Launchpad carries 26 passengers with 49 crew members. So Kismet can sleep ten fewer guests than Launchpad, and she has almost 25% less crew to deal with service and operations. Additionally, Kismet can also accommodate just short of five of the guests' personal staff. Although both superyachts support the luxury of air travel, guests onboard Launchpad experience the ultimate ease of transfers and the opportunity for adventures off the yacht, with the inclusion of not one, but two helipads.
Kismet is a little longer, and she cruises a little slower, but her top speed is only a touch slower.

Length / Beam Ratio
Gross tonnage (GT) is a way to understand how much "stuff" a yacht can hold, like cabins, bathrooms, and other spaces. Comparing the GT of Kismet and Launchpad illustrates well why it is a much better measure of the size of a yacht than overall length, as despite their similar length, Kismet has over 10% less usable space on board. The difference is more than 30 shipping containers of volume. YachtBuyer has introduced the YB100, offering a better approach to ranking the world's biggest yachts. Positioned 55th in the YB100 rankings by GT, Kismet experiences a drop of 23 places compared to her standing in the Top 100 by length. Looking at Launchpad, she ranks 43rd in the YB100 and slips down by four places from her position in the Top 100.
Kismet and Launchpad both have a range of 6,000 nm, however Kismet enjoys an additional two days and 23 hours for cruising. Also, she'll cruise at a speed two knots less than Launchpad, suggesting that embarking from the Seychelles to Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, she'd reach her destination about two days and 17 hours later than Launchpad.
