Silent Yachts Nears Completion of New SY80 Ahead of Cannes Debut

Silent Yachts is preparing to launch its largest and most advanced model to date, with the 24m SY80 Flybridge catamaran now in the final stages of construction at its shipyard in Fano, Italy.

The 24m catamaran, currently in the final stages of construction at the brand’s facility in Fano, Italy, is set to make its world debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2025.

Modular Deck Setups for Long-Range Comfort

The SY80 expands on the brand’s solar-electric design principles with increased volume, outdoor living space, and storage for extended cruising. Owners can select from SY80 Flybridge, SY80 Open, or the SY80 Closed versions. Layouts can include an expansive on-deck master cabin or a wide open-plan salon, with flexibility to place the master suite on the lower deck instead.

What sets the SY80 apart from other competing models is the fact that owners can fully customise every deck, tailoring each space to match their functional needs and individual style."

Each variant is fully customizable, with clients able to adapt every deck to suit personal tastes and practical needs. “We can accommodate a very high number of different configurations,” said CEO Fabrizio Iarrera. “It’s about making the yacht of your dreams into a lived reality.”

Italian Interiors

Designed to accommodate up to 12 guests, the SY80 emphasizes space and comfort across its generous layout. Interiors reflect high-quality Italian craftsmanship throughout, with a focus on relaxed, contemporary styling and seamless flow between indoor and outdoor areas.

The large volume of the catamaran allows for significant interior flexibility, from private staterooms to expansive entertaining spaces, tailored to long-range cruising in style.

Clean Energy Systems

The SY80 is powered by Silent Yachts’ solar-electric drivetrain, delivering a quiet, low-emissions cruising experience. With a top speed of 12 knots and a comfortable cruising speed of 7 to 8 knots, it balances efficiency with range and performance.

A solar array rated at 22.4 kWp feeds into an energy storage system with a capacity of 522 kWh or 696 kWh, depending on specification. This allows for extended periods of silent, fossil-free cruising under solar power alone.

Expanding the Solar-Electric Catamaran Fleet

As the largest yacht in the Silent Yachts lineup, the SY80 builds on the brand’s established reputation for sustainable catamaran cruising. It joins the SY62 and SY120 Explorer series at the forefront of solar-powered yachting, combining next-generation energy systems with Italian design and craftsmanship.
