Interior

Inside the boat, there is seating and hi-lo tables that can be converted into a lounging area or bed. A great feature is the large windows and skylights, which keep the interior bright. There are practical rails for moving around safely when the boat is running fast.

The galley houses the battery switches, fridge, storage spaces, and a one-burner hob. The Wellcraft 355 is not designed to be a full-on cruiser but rather a commuter boat, although it does have some good facilities. The big opening window and the large door allow airflow and easy access into the boat.

The helm has seat bolsters, a tilt-adjustable wheel, engine controls, and a joystick for maneuvering. The multifunction displays and switchgear for various boat functions are showcased. Also pointed out is a clever door down to the lower deck with glass paneling that is barely noticeable when raised.

In the lower deck there is a locker, a comfortable cabinet for a couple, a spacious bed, and a heads with a separate shower. Nick calls the lower deck's size "pretty cool".

On Deck

The Wellcraft 355 features asymmetric side decks. This design allows for maximum interior space. There is a big sliding door and a pop-up cleat for easy manageability. Roof bars for storing sports equipment over the saloon and a fantastic lounging area on the foredeck are both featured. There is a clever hatch design over the forward cabin, which can be covered for sunbathing. Also shown are the pin lights around the boat for night illumination.

He examines the boat's boarding ladder and "tuna doors", which make boarding easy. Also shown is an optional seat at the back that folds away, useful for when the boat is used for fishing. An appreciated feature is the storage space on the deck and the easy connection through the boat.  There is even more seating with storage underneath and an anchor winch on the bow.

Performance

The Wellcraft 355 has three 300 horsepower Yamaha outboards, each a 4.2 liter V6. These engines have a lot of power, and these can push the boat over 50 knots. The boat uses about 72 liters an hour at just under 20 knots, giving it a range of about 260 miles.

In Summary

The Wellcraft 355 is perfect for serious speed up and down the coast, providing ample space when anchored and comfortable accommodation for a week or two. Overall, Nick seems quite impressed with the boat's design and functionality.
