Cannes, FranceAlaska is a multi-award winning 46.4m motor yacht for sale delivered by Italian shipyard CRN Yachts in 2005. Her interior design and exterior styling comes from the drawing boards of Nuvolari Lenard, while CRN Yachts is responsible for her naval architecture.

Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 8.4m beam and a 2.5m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 480 GT (Gross Tonnes).
This was the third yacht built on the Magnifica 46 design. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. She was delivered to her owners in June 2005.
Exterior Design
Alaska began as Saramour, with exterior design by Nuvolari Lennard and naval architecture by CRN, but the yacht seen today owes a great deal to the major rebuild completed at CRN in 2017. It was the first time the Ancona yard had undertaken a full refit of one of its own yachts, and the work went well beyond paint and machinery.
The dark blue hull helps keep the profile looking lower than the 46.4m (152.2ft) length and considerable internal volume might suggest, while the white superstructure is broken up by long bands of glazing. During the rebuild, CRN enlarged the windows on both the main and upper decks, which changed the look outside as well as the amount of light reaching the interior. The raked bow and long foredeck keep some of the original mid 2000s CRN character, but the larger glazing and cleaner aft areas bring the yacht forward a generation.
The tender garage was one of the biggest changes, as what had been a fairly conventional early 2000s garage was reworked around a 7m (23ft) Castoldi tender, lined in wide plank teak and fitted with a shower so the space could become a beach club once the tender was launched. Lowering the transom opens the whole area to the sea, with the swim platform extending the usable space outside.
The sun deck has been arranged around a forward hydromassage tub with sunpads, while another sunbathing area sits aft. Carbon fibre poles support awnings over both ends when shade is needed, and the central section carries a circular teak dining table and bar. CRN also moved the navigation lights and fitted a removable mast farther aft, freeing up more of the forward deck around the spa pool.
Interior Design
The 2017 rebuild changed the interior almost as much as the outside. Walls were removed, rooms were reworked and Solido Interior Design carried out a near complete redesign, with the owner involved in the material and art choices. Walnut panelling, pale upholstery and restrained colours replaced much of the heavier feel associated with interiors from the yacht’s original era.
The main saloon has a particularly useful piece of furniture at its centre: a double sided 78in television that serves both the lounge and dining area and disappears when not in use. That allows the two spaces to remain connected without forcing the room into a fully open plan layout.
The upper saloon has a C shaped sofa facing a 75in television that can also be hidden. Enlarged windows bring in noticeably more daylight than the original arrangement would have allowed, while the nearby bar gives this deck a more relaxed feel than the formal main saloon below.
Accommodation
Alaska accommodates up to 11 guests in five cabins, with the owner forward on the main deck and four guest cabins below.
The owner’s suite is full beam and includes a private office, keeping the sleeping area separate from the more public part of the main deck. Four guest cabins occupy the lower deck, including two full beam VIP suites, a double cabin and a twin with an additional Pullman berth.
One of the most substantial changes made during the 2017 rebuild was the conversion of the former lower deck gym into a guest cabin. That gave Alaska four proper guest cabins on this level and allowed the yacht to accommodate a larger party without touching the owner’s suite above. The aft VIP is particularly generous and was fitted with a 75in television as part of the rebuild.
Crew accommodation is arranged for up to ten.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (3512B-Dita) 1,950hp engines running at 1835rpm, motor yacht Alaska is capable of reaching a top speed of 17 knots, and comfortably cruises at 13 knots. With her 65,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 4,200 nautical miles at an economic speed of 11 knots. She has been fitted with stabilizers to increase on-board comfort when the yacht is at anchor, particularly in rough waters.
Amenities
In addition, a swim platform provides easy access to the ocean. The yacht features a tender garage with storage for a range of toys and accessories. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort. Alaska also features a deck jacuzzi for cooling off.
