Design & Construction
Designed around a semi-displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 8.09m beam and a 2.85m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 343 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in mid 2018. This was the fifteenth yacht built on the 131 Yacht design. She was completed at Sunseeker's Shipyard, Poole yard in United Kingdom where she was commissioned and delivered to her owners in May 2020.
Exterior Design
Captain Morgan III is a 40m (131ft) Sunseeker 131 motor yacht with a GRP hull and superstructure, and the design leans into a fast, modern tri-deck profile with strong glazing and long, flowing lines. The deep-V hull and raked bow shape the way the yacht runs, so it is set up for smooth cruising at speed while keeping that sharp, forward stance typical of Sunseeker’s larger yachts.
The profile uses extensive dark-tinted, full-height glass across the main and upper decks, so the exterior feels lighter and more open, while also linking directly into the interior spaces. The lines stay clean, with cutaway bulwarks and a low, stretched superstructure that gives the yacht a long, horizontal look on the water.
Deck spaces are split across three clear levels. The sundeck acts as the main social hub, with a Jacuzzi forward, a central wet bar, and generous seating under a hardtop radar arch, so it works as an all-day entertaining space. The upper deck aft is set up for dining and connects directly to the skylounge, while the main deck aft offers a more relaxed seating area closer to the water.
Forward, the Portuguese bow creates a private lounge space with U-shaped seating and sunpads, which adds a quieter option away from the main decks. At the stern, a hydraulic platform and integrated garage support tenders and PWCs, while the beach club area opens the yacht to the water for swimming and watersports.
Interior Design
Inside, Captain Morgan III follows a clean, contemporary style, with large areas of glass driving the overall feel. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the main saloon bring in strong natural light, so the space feels open and connected to the sea, while flexible furniture layouts allow the space to shift between dining and lounge use.
The main deck saloon is the central social area, and it flows forward into dining, while the upper deck skylounge offers a more private setting with wide views through large glass panels. This split gives the yacht two distinct interior zones, which works well when the boat is busy.
The helm station sits forward on the upper deck and is fitted with multifunction displays, touchscreen controls, and full navigation systems, all arranged for practical use. Additional seating allows guests to spend time in this space, and a side door provides direct access to the deck.
Accommodation
Captain Morgan III accommodates up to 10 guests across 5 cabins. The full-beam owner’s suite sits on the main deck, positioned forward of the saloon, so it benefits from elevated views, added privacy, and large windows.
The master includes walk-in wardrobes and a large en suite with double vanity, bathtub, and separate shower. Guest accommodation is located on the lower deck, with two double cabins and two twin cabins, all with en suite facilities.
Crew accommodation supports up to 8 crew in four cabins forward, along with a dedicated crew mess, allowing the yacht to operate with full service for private or charter use.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel MTU (12V 4000 M93) 12-cylinder 3,140hp engines, motor yacht Captain Morgan III is capable of reaching a top speed of 22 knots, and comfortably cruises at 18 knots. With her 21,650 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 1,500 nautical miles at 12 knots. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.
Amenities
Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort.
