More Details

Lori is a 40.37m expedition yacht for sale delivered by Italian shipyard Ocean King in 2024. The yacht's refined interiors have been crafted by BurdissoCapponi Yachts&Design, while her exteriors have been penned by Design aLot.

Key Features

  • Master cabin with en suite & study
  • Sun deck with bar & swimming pool
  • Large saloon with floor-to-ceiling windows
  • Large beach club with fold-out balconies.

Design & Construction

Designed around a full displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 8.5m beam and a 2.45m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 427 GT (Gross Tonnes).

This was the first yacht built on the Doge 400 GT design. Launched in July 2024 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in August 2024.

Exterior Design

Design aLOT by Alessandro Lottici pushed Lori's superstructure forward and kept the aft half of the yacht comparatively open, so the long grey hull, high bow and broad stepped decks do most of the visual work.

The colour scheme helps enormously. Hull and superstructure are finished in closely related shades of grey, broken up by black glazing and darker sections around the lower hull. It gives Lori a rather monolithic appearance from a distance, but the long strips of glass and deeply cut side windows stop that mass from becoming heavy. Her 8.5m (27.9ft) beam is generous without making the yacht look slab sided, and the pronounced bow carries plenty of volume forward for a vessel intended to spend serious time offshore.

Much of Lori’s guest life is concentrated aft. The main deck opens onto a broad terrace with dining and lounge areas, while the deck above provides another large outdoor zone before the sun deck takes over at the top. There is no shortage of room to spread out, but the spaces are arranged as separate terraces rather than one enormous open deck, which gives each level a different job.

The beach club is one of the strongest parts of the design. Two fold down side balconies widen the space at anchor and turn the stern into a broad waterside terrace, while the central platform gives direct access to the sea. This is also a working end of the yacht, with tender and toy handling tucked into the lower aft area, so the arrangement has to earn its keep as both leisure space and service zone.

A second storage area forward keeps more equipment away from the guest decks, another useful decision on a long range yacht. It also means the large aft terraces are not constantly being asked to double as tender parking.

The sun deck is Lori’s main outdoor social area, with a pool, bar, dining and loose seating grouped around the central superstructure. Forward seating provides another place to get away from the crowd, and the amount of clear deck around the pool means the space still works when ten guests are aboard.

Interior Design

Burdissocapponi Yachts & Design gave Lori a contemporary Italian interior built around pale timber, neutral upholstery and softer sculptural furniture. It is a good fit for the amount of glass in the superstructure, because the materials do not fight with the light or the views.

The main saloon occupies a substantial section of the main deck and uses the full beam well, with several separate seating groups instead of one large formal arrangement. Full height glazing runs down both sides, while doors aft connect the room directly with the exterior dining and lounge spaces. The layout feels more residential than ceremonial, which suits a yacht designed for longer stays aboard.

The upper deck takes a more formal turn with its dining room, positioned close to the aft exterior spaces and within easy reach of the sun deck above. This keeps formal meals away from the main saloon and leaves the lower living area free for everyday use.

There is also a useful amount of separation between guest and service areas. The galley, pantry, crew routes and vertical circulation sit around the centre of the yacht, so crew can move between service spaces without cutting repeatedly through the main guest rooms.

Accommodation

Lori accommodates 10 guests in five cabins, with the owner’s suite forward on the main deck and four guest cabins below.

The owner’s suite is full beam and includes a separate study, good wardrobe space and a large en suite. Its position forward gives it a degree of separation from the main saloon and aft guest areas, and the broad beam allows the bedroom, dressing and bathroom spaces to spread across the yacht without being squeezed into a narrow centreline arrangement.

The lower deck contains two VIP doubles, a further double and a twin, all en suite. Grouping the guest cabins together around the central staircase makes the arrangement simple to navigate and keeps the owner’s accommodation clearly apart on the deck above.

Up to seven crew are accommodated separately, including the captain.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel MAN (D2868 LE489) 1,450hp engines running at 2100rpm, motor yacht Lori is capable of reaching a top speed of 16 knots, and comfortably cruises at 13 knots. With her 58,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 5,500 nautical miles at an economic speed of 10 knots.

Amenities

The yacht features a tender garage with storage for a range of toys and accessories. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort. Crowning the yacht is a spacious sundeck with an inviting spread of sunpads and deck jacuzzi which provides excellent views.
