Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 16m (52ft) beam. Leviathan is the largest yacht in build at Oceanco and is estimated to have a gross tonnage of nearly 5,000GT.

Her length will place her among the world's biggest yachts but her volume, unmatched at the shipyard, means she will enter YachtBuyer's YB100 at Rank 38 - 10 ranks higher than her expected position of Rank 48 in the Top 100 by length. She will rank third in Oceanco's own megayacht line-up - following the 127m (416ft) sail yacht KORU & 117m (383ft) superyacht INFINITY.

Construction started in mid-2021. The yacht is being designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards.

Exterior Design

At 111m (364ft) with a 17.8m (58ft) beam, Leviathan is the largest yacht in build at Oceanco. Naval architecture is by Lateral Naval Architects with Oceanco, and the exterior styling is by Oceanco. The profile uses extensive glazing and wraparound walkways to keep views open and movement easy.

The livery is almost monochrome, a light grey hull and superstructure picked out by a single turquoise bootstripe at the waterline. The same accent marks the upper deck aft half-court, tying the colour thread from profile to deck. After dark the mood shifts as programmable LEDs trace deck edges and bulwarks. Twin arcs of low-level light outline the bow and brighten cleanly through the turns, giving a crisp silhouette that feels almost straight out of Tron while keeping glare down for deck work.

Across all the aft decks runs a unique graphic treatment in layered greys. Similar to circuit board traces, parallel lines taper and turn, split and rejoin around stairs, bulwarks and fittings, then mirror port to starboard to form nested chevrons and branching paths. The motif frames the basketball half-court, links each terrace visually, and brings a calm, engineered rhythm without clutter.

Aft, broad terraces create easy social space, and a tri-fold beach club opens directly to the water for swimming and watersports. Materials have been chosen to cut repetitive maintenance while sharpening the look. Composite decks and composite capping rails replace teak and varnished timber, and full-height glass superstructure bulkheads keep the lines clean. The aim is simple: less time on upkeep, more time on guest experience, research activity and smooth operations.

Interior Design

Mark Berryman Design leads the interior with durable, low-upkeep finishes such as honed stone and natural wool carpets, chosen to cut routine care without sacrificing quality.

Large panes of glass draw natural light deep into the interior and open views across multiple decks. The layout departs from convention by encouraging optional interaction between guests and crew when it suits the programme. Flexible shared zones include a combined crew mess and dining space that can double as a collaborative area. A notable feature in the main staircase is a full-height glass panel engraved with the names of more than 2,000 people who contributed to the yacht’s creation, from designers and engineers to craftspeople and crew. It is a rare gesture, intended as a permanent acknowledgement of the human skill and collaboration behind Leviathan.

Accommodation

Leviathan offers accommodation for up to 22 guests in 11 suites. She is also capable of carrying up to 33 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Performance & Capabilities

The yacht Leviathan is engineered with a focus on efficiency and environmental responsibility. Central to its mechanical capabilities is a diesel-electric power plant, complemented by a large battery energy storage system. This allows for extended periods of emission-free silent running and is both environmentally-friendly and efficient. Additionally, Leviathan is installed with a waste heat recovery system, alongside an advanced wastewater treatment system in compliance with high environmental standards.

Noise and vibration are being minimized through careful engineering, including optimized structure, insulation, equipment, and system integration. These features collectively aim to set new standards for noise and vibration characteristics in the industry.
