Exterior Design
Built by Viking Yachts in 2024, Primetime is a Viking 90 Sky Bridge, a 27.4m (90ft) sportfishing yacht that combines offshore fishing capability with the accommodation and interior volume of a much larger cruising yacht. She carries a 7.06m (23.2ft) beam and draws 1.8m (5.9ft), with power from twin 2,635hp MTU 16V 2000 M96L diesel engines.
The Viking 90 owes much of its existence to regulation. Viking developed the model after IMO Tier III emissions requirements threatened to impose SCR exhaust treatment systems on larger yachts. By keeping the load line length below the 24m threshold, the builder avoided the additional machinery, weight and space demands associated with SCR installations while retaining the performance and layout expected of its flagship sportfishing platform.
From the profile, Primetime remains unmistakably a Viking. The bow carries substantial height before flowing into a long sheerline that visually reduces the yacht's mass. Dark glazing wraps around the enclosed bridge and continues through the superstructure, breaking up the white surfaces and lowering the visual centre of gravity. Despite a beam of more than 7m (23ft), the profile appears long and relatively low rather than bulky.
The defining feature of the 90SB is its dual-level helm arrangement. A fully enclosed bridge sits beneath an open-air skybridge, giving owners two distinct operating environments. The upper station has commanding views over the cockpit and fishing spread, while the enclosed bridge functions as a climate-controlled wheelhouse and secondary lounge during long passages.
The deck arrangement prioritises fishing and offshore operation. The tender is carried forward on the foredeck rather than above the cockpit, preserving the working area aft. Wide side decks connect the cockpit and bow without interruption, allowing crew to move lines, fenders and fishing gear around the yacht without crossing through guest seating areas. Compared with many motor yachts of similar length, far more of the available deck space is dedicated to operation rather than sunbathing or entertainment zones.
Viking also retained much of the scale of the earlier Viking 92. The cockpit spans a reported 20.8m² (224ft²), placing it among the largest working cockpits in this size category. That space supports tournament fishing activities while the yacht still accommodates six guest staterooms and a substantial enclosed bridge above.
Interior Design
Primetime features a custom interior finished in high-gloss natural walnut with a horizontal grain pattern throughout the guest spaces. The styling is contemporary without abandoning the practical requirements of a yacht intended for regular offshore use.
The main deck combines the saloon, dining area and galley within a single open-plan arrangement. Large side windows bring natural light deep into the interior, while the absence of major structural divisions maintains sightlines from the cockpit entrance through to the forward dining area. The layout allows guests in different parts of the deck to remain connected without sacrificing distinct living zones.
A large galley occupies the centre of the main deck. The arrangement places food preparation close to both the dining area and cockpit, an advantage during fishing trips and extended cruising. An L-shaped island creates additional workspace while also serving as an informal gathering point.
A custom wet bar finished in White Lumix stone introduces one of the yacht's more distinctive interior details. Integrated lighting beneath the surface creates a soft illuminated effect after dark and adds contrast to the walnut joinery surrounding it.
The enclosed bridge forms a second social space as well as an operational centre. A wraparound windshield provides broad forward visibility with minimal structural framing, and lounge seating behind the helm allows guests to spend time in the space without interfering with navigation. On long passages, the enclosed bridge effectively serves as an elevated skylounge with direct access to the controls.
This upper deck arrangement is one of the key differences between the Viking 90 Sky Bridge and traditional open-bridge sportfishing yachts. Owners can cruise in air-conditioned comfort while retaining the elevated open-air helm that many tournament anglers prefer.
Accommodation
Accommodation is arranged across six guest staterooms, allowing Primetime to host up to 12 guests. This capacity is unusual within the sportfishing segment and reflects Viking's goal of preserving the accommodation volume of the earlier Viking 92.
The full-beam master suite occupies the centre of the lower deck in the widest section of the hull. Its amidships location benefits from additional internal volume and reduced motion compared with cabins positioned further forward. The suite includes extensive storage and a large private bathroom.
A VIP stateroom occupies the bow, making use of the yacht's generous forward volume. Four additional guest cabins sit between the VIP and master suite along a central companionway. The arrangement provides a mixture of double and twin accommodation suited to family cruising, charter use or tournament teams travelling together.
The general arrangement also highlights the separation between guest and operational areas. Guest accommodation occupies the forward portion of the hull, while the engine room sits aft of the master suite and acts as a buffer between guest cabins and crew spaces.
Crew accommodation is positioned behind the machinery space with direct access to the cockpit and working areas.
