Design & Construction
Designed around a planing GRP hull and superstructure she features a 6.71m beam. The yacht has an internal volume of 85 GT (Gross Tonnes).
This was the third yacht built on the Zeelander 8 design. Launched in June 2026 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was completed at Zeelander's Groot-Ammers Shipyard yard in Netherlands where she was commissioned and delivered to her owners in June 2026.
Exterior Design
Solea is the third Zeelander 8 delivered and perhaps the clearest expression yet of the Dutch yard's design philosophy. Penned by Cor D. Rover, the 23.9m (78.4ft) flagship takes its inspiration from the elegant commuter yachts of the 1930s, but reinterprets those flowing forms as a thoroughly modern luxury motor yacht. The sweeping S-shaped sheerline, wraparound windscreen, sculpted coachroof and pronounced tumblehome stern create a profile that is unmistakably Zeelander. It is a yacht where curves dominate and straight lines are almost impossible to find.
Her dark metallic grey hull gives Solea a very different character to her earlier sisterships. The deeper finish highlights every curve, making the yacht appear lower, longer and more sculptural on the water. Painted composite surfaces replace traditional exterior timber, keeping maintenance low while preserving the clean, uninterrupted appearance that has become a Zeelander hallmark. Even practical details such as the oval stainless steel guardrails were developed specifically for the brand and carry discreet Zeelander badging.
The exterior layout balances entertaining with relaxed cruising. A sheltered aft cockpit flows naturally into the saloon through Zeelander's signature curved sliding window, while the foredeck provides another social area that converts from dining space to sunpads. At the stern, the yacht's distinctive tumblehome disguises a folding transom that lowers to create a generous 1.83m (6ft) swim platform, extending the connection with the water without interrupting the yacht's elegant profile.
Interior Design
Solea's interior reflects an owner who already understood exactly how they wanted to use the yacht. The main saloon revolves around a large dining table rather than the more conventional lounge arrangement, making it the natural gathering point on board. A generous galley remains fully integrated into the living space, encouraging interaction instead of separating guests from whoever is preparing food or drinks. When the curved side window slides open, the distinction between the saloon and aft cockpit almost disappears, allowing both spaces to function as one.
Material selection gives Solea an identity of her own. Swamp oak, recovered from riverbeds after decades beneath the water, features throughout the interior. Years of mineral absorption have transformed the timber into a rich, almost black finish that contrasts beautifully with soft leather upholstery and Porsche Agate detailing. The result feels warm, understated and deeply tactile, with every surface chosen as much for its texture as its appearance.
Accommodation
Solea offers accommodation for up to 6 guests in 3 suites comprising an owners cabin and 2 double cabins. She is also capable of carrying up to 3 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by four Volvo Penta IPS 1350 engines producing a combined 4,000hp, Solea became the fastest Zeelander 8 delivered when she reached 40 knots during sea trials. The quad IPS installation combines effortless acceleration with precise low-speed manoeuvring, allowing the yacht to perform just as confidently in a busy marina as she does offshore.
Performance is matched by remarkable refinement. Even at full throttle, interior sound levels measure just 65dBA, reinforcing one of Zeelander's defining qualities: exceptional quietness under way. Beneath the elegant styling sits a deep-V hull that provides a composed ride at speed, whether making quick passages along the Riviera or crossing open stretches of water between island destinations.
Solea also has the range for extended cruising. She can cover approximately 630 nautical miles at a brisk 32 knots, while reducing speed to seven knots increases her range to around 2,700 nautical miles. A Williams 435 jet tender, together with Seabobs and flyboards, completes a package designed for owners who want to spend long periods exploring the Mediterranean in comfort without sacrificing performance.
