Exterior styling and interior design were developed by Milan-based studio Hot Lab, while naval architecture was handled by Palumbo Superyachts.
The new yacht becomes the smallest model in the Atlantique range, which already includes the 43m Atlantique vessels Frette and Night Fury II, along with the 47m Acqua Chiara. Built entirely in aluminium and measuring 299GT, the design focuses on delivering the comfort and spatial qualities of a larger yacht while remaining below the 300GT threshold.
Light-Filled Interiors Designed by Hot Lab
Hot Lab developed the interiors with a restrained architectural approach that prioritizes light and open views across the surrounding seascape. Floor-to-ceiling glazing runs across large portions of the superstructure, drawing natural light deep into the living spaces and maintaining constant visual contact with the water.
The main deck saloon of the superyacht sits behind full-height windows and is arranged as a relaxed lounge area with sofas and armchairs grouped around a central table. Built-in cabinetry along the forward bulkhead integrates storage and entertainment systems while keeping the space visually uncluttered.
Forward of the saloon, the formal dining area seats ten guests and benefits from broad forward views. Materials follow a warm and contemporary palette, with wood paneling across the walls and cabinetry paired with lighter fabrics and stone surfaces. Marble accents appear in selected areas, adding texture without overwhelming the calm interior scheme.
Principessa Capricciosa accommodates up to 10 guests in five cabins arranged across the main and lower decks. The owner’s suite is positioned forward on the main deck and occupies one of the yacht’s most private areas. The suite features a walk-in wardrobe and a bathroom layout centered around a shared shower between two separate bathroom areas. A private terrace further extends the owner’s space outdoors.
Infinity Pool and Expanding Aft Terrace
The Atlantique 38’s profile carries several distinctive design elements seen across the broader Atlantique range. Long horizontal glazing bands run almost the full length of the yacht, visually stretching the silhouette and linking the decks together.
The hull form takes cues from classic sailing yachts, with a sleek sheer line and a superstructure that appears to sit lightly on the hull. A subtle sporting character runs through the design, drawing inspiration from the proportions of Italian grand touring cars.
The spaces interact strongly with the marine environment, while the exterior lines are clean and elegant, with a touch of sportiness reminiscent of the Italian GT cars admired worldwide. "
Columbus Yachts
Outdoor living on board the motor yacht centers around the stern area. The aft deck steps down toward a terrace that sits just 50 centimeters above the water, creating a close connection with the sea. A panoramic infinity pool is positioned just forward of the beach club, while folding platforms on either side expand the usable deck space.
Above, the main deck aft forms a shaded dining and seating area protected by the overhang of the upper deck. The upper deck itself provides another open-air lounge arranged with loose seating around low tables, offering a quieter vantage point above the activity at the stern. A garage located at the stern on the starboard side stores a five-meter tender and a jet ski.
Semi-Planing Aluminium Hull with 22-Knot Top Speed
Principessa Capricciosa features a semi-planing aluminium hull powered by twin 2,000hp MAN diesel engines. This propulsion package delivers a reported top speed of 22 knots and a cruising speed of 19 knots.
With a beam of 8 meters and a draft of 2.3 meters, the yacht balances performance with interior volume while remaining just under the 300GT threshold. This size category is often favored for private owners seeking manageable operating costs without sacrificing guest space.
