Fiart Unveils New SX Yacht Line with SX4 and SX5 Aimed at Long-Range Cruising

Italian builder Fiart has introduced its new SX line, a dual-model range designed to bring long-range usability and social deck living into the mid-size cruiser segment.

Developed in-house by the yard's technical office with design by Massimo Simeone, the SX line launches with the 16m Fiart SX4 and the 17m Fiart SX5, both centered on protected deck layouts and flexible interior arrangements for extended time on board.

A Social Deck Plan

The SX line is defined by a carefully structured main deck that prioritizes usability and movement. A double cockpit layout forms the core of the design, creating distinct but connected social zones that can shift between dining, lounging, and open deck use depending on the setting.

Circulation has been treated as a key design element. Walkways run cleanly from stern to bow, making it easy to move across the yacht while underway. This continuity links each outdoor space  into a single, usable environment rather than a series of separated areas.

At the stern, a large beach platform sits close to the water, intended for swimming and casual use at anchor. Forward of this, the cockpit and main seating areas provide shaded and open-air options, while the bow is reserved for sunbathing, giving the motor yacht a clear progression of spaces from active to relaxed.

The SX5 - Larger Platform with Extended Range in Mind

At 17.3 meters, the SX5 sits at the top of the new range and is positioned as the more capable option for longer cruising plans. The additional length is most noticeable in the cockpit of the boat, where a large sunpad faces aft toward the water, paired with a U-shaped seating area that can be converted into a dining space.

The central section of the deck is covered by a hardtop, creating a sheltered living area that remains usable while underway. This extends the practical use of the yacht beyond fair-weather anchoring and supports longer passages.

Cabins are configured as full living spaces rather than compact sleeping areas, with a focus on privacy and usability over longer trips. Owners can choose between two- or three-cabin layouts, each paired with two bathrooms, depending on whether the priority is guest capacity or increased owner space. Power comes from twin Volvo Penta D8 engines rated at 550 hp with IPS700 drives, with an upgrade available to IPS800.

The SX4 - A More Compact, Accessible Entry Point

The 16.1-meter SX4 brings the same core design approach into a slightly smaller and more accessible platform. It retains the protected deck concept and open social layout, but with a focus on ease of handling and day-to-day usability.

Like the SX5, the SX4 offers two interior configurations. The three-cabin layout is aimed at families or owners planning to cruise with guests, while the two-cabin option prioritizes larger living areas and increased comfort for longer stays.

Power is provided by twin Volvo Penta D6 engines producing 440 hp with IPS600 drives, with an upgrade to 480 hp and IPS650 available.

The SX line marks a clear shift in Fiart’s approach, focusing on usability over short-term styling trends. With two closely related models now in place, the yard has created a consistent platform aimed at owners planning to spend more time on the water, rather than simply passing through it.
