The 22m Pershing model premiered earlier this year at the Venice Boat Show, where it introduced a fresh chapter for the yard's sport-driven design philosophy.
Pushing Beyond the Traditional Sport Yacht
The GTX70 marks the yard's entry point into the Pershing GTX range, expanding the Italian builder’s reputation for performance with a new focus on onboard livability. Designed by Vallicelli Design with naval architecture by the Ferretti Group Engineering Department, the GTX70 evolves Pershing’s signature aggression into a more versatile flybridge yacht format.

Built from fiberglass and equipped with a high-performance planing hull, the GTX70 is powered by triple Volvo Penta D13-IPS1200 engines delivering 2,700 horsepower in total. The yacht reaches a top speed of 35 knots and cruises comfortably around 30 knots, combining raw performance with a greater emphasis on space and comfort than previous Pershing models of similar length.
More Space, Smarter Layouts
A defining feature of the GTX70 is its expanded 42-square-meter beach area and cockpit, made possible by fold-out bulwarks that extend the beam when at anchor. This transformation turns the aft section into a generous social zone, linking directly to the water. The hydraulic platform uses a three-level lift system with integrated steps and a linear lift mechanism, simplifying the transition between swimming, tender operations, and lounging.

The yacht’s widebody superstructure features walkable side decks that maintain the sleek Pershing profile while adding volume.

Above, the flybridge offers a comfortable open-air space for sunbathing and navigation, underscoring the GTX70’s identity as a true performance cruiser rather than a pure sports motor yacht.
Modern Deck Plan for Modern Use
Inside, Pershing has reimagined the traditional layout to encourage social cruising. The main deck features what the yard calls a “360-degree” concept, positioning the galley aft to connect the cockpit directly with the salon. This configuration enhances flow between interior and exterior spaces, while large windows flood the salon with light and panoramic views.

The salon layout features two opposing sofas for balanced, sociable seating, with a low-profile helm station forward. The overall atmosphere feels bright, modern, and relaxed, emphasizing visibility and openness rather than formality.

Below deck, the GTX70 accommodates up to six guests across three cabins. The full-beam owner’s suite is positioned amidships and includes an en suite bathroom, while the forward VIP cabin also has a private head. A twin guest cabin completes the layout, with shared facilities and thoughtful storage. Each cabin reflects Pershing’s focus on functional luxury, blending contemporary styling with efficient spatial design.
Other Flybridge Models to Watch at FLIBS 2025
According to YachtBuyer Market Watch & Intelligence, the largest yacht database in the world, several notable alternatives are also making their American debuts at Fort Lauderdale this year.
The Pearl 63, from British builder Pearl Yachts, offers a more family-oriented approach within an 18.61-meter footprint. With a planing hull and a top speed of 33 knots, the model maintains strong performance credentials but focuses on comfort and practicality, accommodating up to eight guests in four cabins. Its opening side balconies and revised cockpit layout enhance the connection with the sea, making it well suited to relaxed cruising and weekending.

Italian builder Absolute will also showcase two compelling options for buyers seeking greater range or volume. The Navetta 62, a semi-displacement trawler-style yacht, contrasts sharply with Pershing’s sportier ethos, prioritizing efficiency and craftsmanship over speed.

Meanwhile, the Absolute 70 Fly, flagship of the brand’s flybridge range, spans 21.51 meters and delivers more interior volume with a design centered on flow and versatility. Sliding-glass salon doors, a modular aft terrace, and a vertical bathing platform highlight its focus on adaptable living and open connection to the water.

Together, these yachts showcase the diverse character of modern flybridge design. From Pershing’s high-speed sport lineage to the comfort-driven philosophies of Pearl and Absolute, the 2025 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show will give buyers a broad view of how performance, lifestyle, and craftsmanship intersect across today’s new-generation flybridge yachts.
