Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 10.4m beam and a 3.35m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 853 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in late 2023. This was the ninth yacht built on the Amels 60 design. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in January 2026 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in May 2026.
Exterior Design
QU2 brings together modern styling with traditional design cues, resulting in a clean, contemporary profile shaped by Espen Øino. A signature feature of the yacht’s exterior is the bold trapezoidal window design along the owner’s suite, which adds character to the hull and draws in natural light.
Spanning 29m (95.1ft), the sun deck is a versatile space with sleek overhangs, a hardtop mast, and crisp architectural lines. A six-person Jacuzzi sits at the center of the space, paired with a bar and shaded alfresco dining area. The forward portion of the deck can be cleared and configured to function as a Touch-and-Go helipad, supporting aircraft up to 3,000kg Maximum Take-Off Weight. Further forward on the foredeck, a crane is discreetly housed for launching and retrieving tenders and waverunners.
At the stern, the yacht features a large beach club measuring 28sq/m (301sq/ft), which links directly to the central staircase and guest suites on the lower deck. Whether anchored or docked, this area serves as a hub for relaxation and watersports. A large swim platform extends from the transom, offering easy access to the sea along with a sauna nearby. Depending on preference, guests can reboard via a removable carbon swim ladder or integrated hydraulic swim stairs for added comfort.
Interior Design
Winch Design takes a clear, nature-led direction here, with pale timber floors run across the decks, and subtle grain patterns adding texture while keeping the look quiet, and soft-toned wall panels curve gently between spaces.
Stone and marble sit against these lighter surfaces, introducing contrast without breaking the calm. In key areas, large veined slabs act as focal points, so the eye is drawn without the need for heavy detailing. Ceilings carry this approach too, with light contour patterns and recessed lighting that soften the overall feel.
At the centre, the staircase forms the main architectural feature. It rises through the yacht as a sculptural column, built from fine horizontal layers that give it a ribbed, organic look, while the steps cantilever outward in a slow spiral. A backlit stone wall sits behind it, so the whole structure reads as one continuous element linking the decks.
The main saloon stays open and balanced, with wide glazing bringing the sea into view and low furniture keeping sightlines clear. Seating follows the same soft geometry, with curved sofas and rounded tables arranged to mirror the broader design language, and a bar area set in darker timber anchors the space without interrupting it.
The gym and wellness areas continue this tone, so equipment sits within the same material palette rather than feeling separate or technical. Steps lead upward through the space, maintaining a visual link to the rest of the yacht, while finishes stay consistent with timber underfoot and stone detailing along the walls.
Accommodation
QU2 accommodates up to 12 guests across six cabins. The main deck is home to the full-beam owner’s suite, where the large, angled windows not only define the yacht’s profile but also flood the space with light. This suite includes a private folding balcony that opens onto a 7sq/m (75 sq/ft) terrace - an ideal spot for enjoying fresh air in privacy.
One VIP cabin complements the owner’s suite, while the remaining guest accommodation is located on the lower deck. These guest suites connect directly to the beach club via a central corridor, giving guests immediate access to the water and outdoor areas without passing through main communal zones.
The yacht also provides accommodation for up to 13 crew members, ensuring that service and operations are well supported throughout extended voyages or charter use.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel-electric MTU (12V 2000 M72) engines, motor yacht Amels QU2 is capable of reaching a top speed of 15 knots, and comfortably cruises at 13 knots. With her 122,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 4,500 nautical miles at 13 knots. QU2 has a hybrid propulsion system is designed to deliver efficient and versatile power management.
In the "Silent Cruising" mode, the yacht is propelled by hybrid electrical drive motors, achieving a speed of 7 knots while maintaining a quiet and smooth operation. This mode combines batteries and generators to ensure a tranquil cruising experience.
The "Eco Cruising" mode operates between 7 to 14 knots, and harnesses the main engines to generate both propulsion and electrical power, optimizing fuel use and minimizing environmental impact.
In situations demanding maximum speed and power, the "Full Power" mode engages batteries, generators, and main engines to propel the yacht to a top speed of 15.5 knots. This mode ensures robust performance with the added advantage of a full hotel load and additional battery backup.
