Developed by Studio De Voogt under the direction of senior designer Jan Schaffers, Hive is Feadship's largest concept to date. Exterior and interior design have been developed by Studio De Voogt, working alongside Feadship's naval architects and engineers on the technical development of the custom yacht concept.
At the centre of the custom yacht for sale is a four-deck gathering space that can function as a salon, performance stage or auditorium, with terraces opening on either side and curved staircases connecting overlooking balconies and lounges. Inspired in part by Parisian salons of the 1930s, the interior is designed around social spaces, while a circular glass-enclosed library opening onto a secluded garden provides a quieter retreat.
The motor yacht for sale has a long, low profile defined by extensive glazing and integrated terraces, with a 20m swimming pool featuring Feadship's ContraWave technology among its principal deck features. The pool extends indoors beneath a suspended glass-bottomed infinity section, while a two-storey beach lounge connects to waterfront dining for at least 24 guests and an underwater observation lounge.
Hive was conceived around the imagined lifestyle of a family of four, with its virtual bridge arrangement freeing the forward superstructure for private spaces, including the owner's accommodation. As the yacht for sale remains a custom concept, Feadship has not publicly detailed a final guest cabin arrangement, overall guest capacity or crew complement, leaving these elements open to further development with a future owner.
Hive has been developed around a proposed DC electrical architecture with three 900kW variable-speed generators operating on HVO, fuel-cell technology and a 5MWh lithium-ion battery installation. Voith Schneider Propellers are proposed for propulsion, with a projected top speed of 16 knots and a range at 12 knots of up to 9,500 nautical miles on HVO or 5,000 nautical miles on methanol.
