Delivered in October 2025 as the first yacht from the Amels 80 Limited Editions series, Pangea will headline Damen Yachting’s Monaco line-up from 23-26 September. She will be berthed at E14 in Port Hercule, giving visitors their first opportunity to see the new 80m platform at an international yacht show.
Pangea Brings the First Amels 80 to Monaco
The Monaco appearance arrives almost a year after Pangea left Damen Yachting's Vlissingen City shipyard. Her delivery represented the completion of the first yacht from an Amels 80 program initially unveiled in 2022, with the owner securing the first hull around six months after the design's introduction.
Pangea retains the technical foundation of the Amels Limited Editions approach while carrying substantial owner-specific changes. Burgess managed the build on behalf of the owner, while Damen Yachting, Espen Øino and Sinot developed the yacht around a brief focused on privacy, large guest spaces and extended cruising.
The result is one of the largest yachts in the current Amels Limited Editions range. YachtBuyer records a cruising speed of 12 knots, a top speed of 16.5 knots and a maximum range of 5,000 nautical miles at cruising speed. Hybrid propulsion is also fitted, supporting quieter operation and more efficient use of the yacht's machinery depending on operating conditions.
A 517-Square-Meter Owner's Deck Leads the Interior
The yacht accommodates 14 guests across seven suites, but the allocation of space is particularly notable. The owner has a complete 517-square-meter private deck, rather than the more conventional arrangement of placing the principal suite on the main deck. Six further guest cabins are located together on the main deck.
Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design created the interior, marking the studio's first project with Amels. Large areas of glazing feature throughout the yacht, including floor-to-ceiling windows around the main deck lounge, drawing more daylight into the interior and opening views across the surrounding decks.
Exterior space on board the superyacht is equally significant. The 200-square-meter sundeck is described by Amels as the largest in its class and includes an oversized Jacuzzi. A separate private Jacuzzi serves the forward-facing owner's suite, while broad deck areas aft provide several distinct places for dining and relaxation.
A touch-and-go helicopter landing area is positioned forward, while the tender garage is also placed toward the bow. Moving these operational functions away from the stern leaves the aft sections available for guest use.
Glass-Bottom Pool Sits Above a Three-Sided Beach Club
One of Pangea's defining areas is found across the main deck aft and lower deck. A 6.5m glass-bottom swimming pool sits above the beach club, allowing natural light through the pool floor into the space below.
The beach club can open on three sides toward the water, creating a broad sea-level area at anchor. A dedicated wellness section includes a gym, hammam, sauna and massage facilities, giving the lower deck of the motor yacht a more substantial role than a conventional watersports and boarding zone.
Pangea's scale is particularly apparent in these spaces. At around 2,200 GT, she carries considerably more gross tonnage than many yachts close to 80m, while her deck arrangement distributes guest areas across the full height of the yacht rather than concentrating activity around a single aft deck. Her design received a Judges' Commendation in the Displacement Motor Yachts - 1,500GT to 2,499GT category at the 2026 World Superyacht Awards.
Followed by Amels 80 Sisterships Netto II and Germaine
Pangea's Monaco debut comes as the Amels 80 program expands beyond its first hull. Two sisterships have entered service, showing how much variation the Limited Editions platform allows.
The second Amels 80, Netto II, was delivered in 2026. She shares Espen Øino exterior design and a Sinot interior with Pangea, but stands out with her metallic Dolphin Blue hull, platinum bootstripe and white superstructure. She accommodates 14 guests in seven suites and retains key Amels 80 features, including the 517-square-meter owner's deck, 6.5m pool, three-sided beach club and 200-square-meter sundeck.
Germaine, the third Amels 80, was also delivered in 2026 after construction as Project Zurich. Her exterior is again by Espen Øino, while her interior designer remains undisclosed. YachtBuyer records her at 80m and 2,175 GT, with accommodation for 14 guests across seven cabins. An art-focused owner brief gives her a distinct identity from the first two hulls.
According to YachtBuyer MarketWatch, the largest yacht database in the world, there are currently 5 other Amels 80 yachts either in build or on order, extending a program that has progressed rapidly since its 2022 introduction, with additional contracts stretching into 2029.
Amels 60 QU2 Joins Pangea at Monaco
Delivered in May 2026, QU2 is the latest Amels 60 to enter service. She carries Espen Øino exterior styling with a custom Winch Design interior influenced by the landscapes and colors of the Pacific Islands. The yacht also has hybrid technology, a large beach club and swim platform, plus a quoted 5,000-nautical-mile range at 12 knots.
For Amels, however, Pangea will be the headline yacht in Monaco. Having already been followed into service by two sisterships, her first international show appearance gives the industry its first close look at the yacht that established the 80m flagship of the current Limited Editions range.
