Cannes, FrancePrincipessa Capricciosa is a 38m motor yacht delivered by Italian shipyard Columbus Yachts in 2026. Her interior design and exterior styling comes from the drawing boards of Hot Lab, while Columbus Yachts is responsible for her naval architecture.

Design & Construction
Designed around a semi-planing aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 8m beam and a 1.98m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 299 GT (Gross Tonnes).
This was the first yacht built on the Atlantique 38M design. Launched in March 2026 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months.
Exterior Design
Principessa Capricciosa carries a flowing profile that defines Columbus Yachts' Atlantique range, although Hot Lab has given the 38m (124.7ft) platform a lower, longer appearance through uninterrupted bands of dark glazing and a lightly proportioned superstructure. The hull takes inspiration from classic sailing yachts, while crisp surfaces and restrained detailing give the yacht a contemporary edge. Built entirely in aluminium, both hull and superstructure contribute to a displacement of just 299GT, allowing generous internal volume while remaining below the 300GT threshold.
Life on board centres around the stern. The aft cockpit sits only 50cm above the water, creating a close connection with the sea, while fold-down balconies widen the deck to form a broad waterside terrace. A large aft-facing sofa, oversized poufs and a mirrored cocktail bar create an informal lounge, and the integrated swimming pool sits just forward of the beach area so guests can move naturally between the water, pool and seating without changing decks. A dedicated garage houses a 5m tender and a jet ski, while a separate compartment beneath the beach club stairs stores a pair of Seabobs, keeping the deck itself free from clutter.
The upper deck offers a different atmosphere. A shaded dining area seats up to ten guests around a Calacatta marble table, while fold-away side glazing can open the enclosed space to the sea on both sides. Further aft, modular Paola Lenti seating creates another relaxed lounge, and a concealed 75-inch television rises from the hardtop when required. Forward, the upper deck becomes a private retreat with a swimming pool, generous sunpads and built-in seating, while the sundeck above adds another outdoor lounge together with a secondary helm station.
Interior Design
Hot Lab approached the interior as an architectural composition, relying on carefully layered materials instead of decorative excess. Cream and grey-beige lacquered wood, European oak flooring and light marble surfaces establish a calm palette, while staggered wall panelling and concealed lighting introduce depth without overwhelming the spaces. Floor-to-ceiling glazing runs almost the full length of the main saloon, allowing natural light to shape the interior throughout the day.
The main saloon arranges a pair of white Minotti sofas opposite dark grey armchairs around a marble coffee table, creating a comfortable conversation area that remains connected to the sea through the full-height glazing. Forward, the dining room continues the same restrained material palette, while maintaining clear circulation between the social areas and side decks.
One of the yacht's most unusual features is its integrated audio system. Rather than adding entertainment equipment after completion, the system formed part of the design from the outset. Bowers & Wilkins ceiling speakers throughout the yacht operate through a Sonos ecosystem, while the main saloon includes a dedicated high-fidelity installation pairing Sonus faber loudspeakers with McIntosh electronics, creating a listening experience rarely found aboard a yacht of this size.
Accommodation
Principessa Capricciosa accommodates up to 12 guests across five cabins, with the owner's suite occupying the forward section of the main deck and four guest cabins arranged on the lower deck. Crew accommodation for six, plus the captain, occupies four cabins aft, allowing guest areas to remain private.
The owner's suite extends beyond the usual arrangement found on a yacht of this size. Entry is through a generous walk-in wardrobe, while a dedicated wellness corner with a treadmill enjoys wide views through a picture window. The king-size bed sits beneath a sculpted limestone headboard, and the ensuite bathroom divides into separate his-and-hers spaces linked by a central marble shower. A private sea terrace, furnished with custom Roda seating, extends the suite outdoors and provides a secluded space just above the water.
Two double cabins and two convertible twin cabins occupy the lower deck, each with an additional Pullman berth to increase guest capacity when required. Every cabin uses its own colour palette and bespoke detailing, while marble bathrooms and decorative lighting from FontanaArte and Bomma provide continuity throughout the accommodation.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel MAN (V12-2000) 2,000hp engines running at 2300rpm, motor yacht Principessa Capricciosa is capable of reaching a top speed of 20 knots, and comfortably cruises at 12 knots. With her 33,916 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 1,900 nautical miles at 12 knots.
