Lazy Me is a 41m motor yacht delivered by Cantieri di Pisa in 2008. Her exterior design comes from the drawing boards of Carlo Galeazzi, while Cantieri di Pisa is responsible for her naval architecture.
Design & Construction
Designed around a semi-displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 7.77m beam and a 2.36m draft. The yacht is built over 2 decks with an internal volume of 315 GT (Gross Tonnes).
She was delivered to her owners in December 2008.
Exterior Design
The 41-metre (134.5ft) Lazy Me carries forward the unmistakable identity of Cantieri di Pisa’s Akhir line with its sharp, low-slung profile and clean, modern lines. A broad black stripe runs through the windows and portholes, serving both aesthetic and practical purposes by increasing natural light on the lower deck. The effect is sleek and dynamic, giving the yacht a dart-like stance that hints at movement even while still. Advances in construction techniques have helped refine these contours even further, keeping the design crisp while preserving the heritage of Pierluigi Spadolini’s original concept, reinterpreted here by Carlo Galeazzi.
The exterior layout is generous, especially on the sun deck where there's plenty of space to relax or entertain. An aft dining area seats 10, flanked forward by symmetrical L-shaped sofas and low coffee tables. Sunloungers and helm stations sit further forward, making this a versatile space that’s equally suited to casual lounging or social gatherings. A 14-speaker sound system has been installed across the sun deck, catering to those who enjoy outdoor music in style.
At water level, the teak-lined tender garage serves double duty. Once the 4.6-metre jet RIB is launched, the space transforms into a casual beach-style hangout - ideal for sunbathing or preparing for water sports. Everything’s neatly stowed behind louvred doors, from pigeon-holes for towels to water sports kit. A Pin-Craft crane handles tender operations. The garage and engine spaces showcase a high standard of finish rarely seen in technical areas, with systems thoughtfully arranged to ease both operation and maintenance.
Lazy Me is finished in a soft white hull with striking dark accents, a classic yet contemporary look that remains true to the Akhir heritage while embracing modern practicality.
Interior Design
Inside, the design leans into a relaxed, modern atmosphere that avoids formality without losing polish. The interior was styled by Carlo Paladini from Cantieri di Pisa’s in-house team, guided by a brief for something bright, wide, and family-friendly. Elm panelling and stained oak flooring run throughout, softened by carefully selected fabrics chosen by the owner’s wife. The result is warm and welcoming, with clean lines and personal detail.
The main saloon on the main deck flows from an aft lounge area into a formal dining space forward. Unusually, a separate television area sits in between, furnished with a wave-shaped, forward-facing sofa opposite a pop-up flatscreen. This softer, less structured layout suits the yacht’s casual, lived-in feel.
One of the standout architectural features is the main staircase, aligned along the centreline and illuminated from above by natural light spilling down from the sun deck. It connects all major areas - linking the accommodation deck, pilothouse, and upper levels - and adds a sense of grandeur without becoming overbearing. The stairwell itself has a bright, almost cathedral-like quality that enhances the dining space below.
Forward on the main deck, what might typically be a master suite has instead been used creatively. This area is configured as a second lounge or TV room, complete with an en suite shower and a concealed fold-down double bed. It’s a flexible, functional space that extends the yacht’s social footprint.
To port, forward of the saloon, is a well-equipped galley. From here, crew have direct stair access to their quarters below. Just above the galley level, the raised pilothouse features a starboard-side passage with a day head, and beneath it, a machinery room dedicated to the yacht’s entertainment and communications systems.
Accommodation
Guest accommodation is spread across the lower deck and comprises five cabins, comfortably sleeping up to 12. The master suite is located aft and spans the full beam of the yacht. It features nine windows on the starboard side, a generous bathroom, and ample space for both seating and storage. Furnishings echo the curved forms seen in the saloon, with wave-like detailing continuing into the bedhead design.
Two twin cabins sit amidships, each fitted with an additional Pullman berth for flexible sleeping arrangements. Further forward, two double cabins complete the guest layout. Every cabin includes an en suite, and each bathroom is finished in its own distinctive marble, creating a unique character in every space. While the guest cabins are modest in scale compared to the master, they are thoughtfully laid out and comfortably appointed.
Crew accommodation is located in the forward section of the lower deck and is accessed via the galley. It includes four twin-berthed cabins, each with its own shower room, supporting a total crew capacity of seven. A well-proportioned crew mess is situated on the main deck, designed to give the team both practical space and comfort during downtime.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel MTU (16V 4000 M90) 16-cylinder 3,648hp engines running at 2100rpm, motor yacht Lazy Me is capable of reaching a top speed of 29 knots, and comfortably cruises at 25 knots. With her 31,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 2,740 nautical miles at 12 knots. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.
