Design & Construction

Designed around a wood hull and a GRP superstructure she features a 7.6m beam and a 1.6m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 225 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Construction started in mid 2018. Launched in May 2020 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in July 2020.

Exterior Design

The 35.5m (116.5ft) Mengi Yay superyacht Seastar is a fully custom build with a 7.6m (24.9ft) beam, and its profile leans into sharp, forward-driving lines that give it a clear sense of speed. From the image, the bow is fine and slightly aggressive, while the hull sides carry long, dark glazing bands that stretch the profile and reduce visual bulk.

A raised pilothouse sits above the main deck, and this creates a stepped structure that separates operational and guest areas, while still keeping the overall silhouette low. The flybridge is covered by a hardtop with louvered panels, so light can be adjusted across the space rather than fully blocked.

Deck areas are spread across multiple levels, with clear zones for sunbathing, dining, and general lounging. The aft decks step toward the water, while the upper levels provide more protected seating areas. The overall layout supports time spent outside, with enough variation between open and shaded spaces to suit different conditions.

Construction in wood and epoxy sets Seastar apart in this size range, where composite builds are more common, and this choice reflects the fully custom nature of the project.

Interior Design

Interior design by BTA Design focuses on openness and direct links to the exterior. The main saloon includes sliding glass doors on both port and starboard sides, and these open out onto fold-down balconies, so the space can expand laterally rather than just aft.

This arrangement changes how the saloon works in use, as airflow and access to the water come from both sides, not just the rear deck. It also brings more light into the space, which supports a brighter interior without relying only on forward or aft glazing.

Accommodation

Seastar offers accommodation for up to 10 guests in 5 suites. She is also capable of carrying up to 6 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (C32) 1,900hp engines, motor yacht Seastar is capable of reaching a top speed of 22 knots, and comfortably cruises at 16 knots.
