Design & Construction
Designed around a full displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 9.48m beam and a 2.6m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 499 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in late 2023. This was the first yacht built on the Virtus XP design. Launched in April 2026 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months.
Exterior Design
The 53m (173.9ft) Gray Wolf yacht is the flagship of the Mengi Yay Virtus XP explorer yacht series, built with a clear focus on long-range capability and offshore use. Her profile is modern but controlled, with layered deck lines that step cleanly aft and a near-vertical bow that reflects her explorer brief.
The hull is finished in white with a continuous band of dark glazing running along the main deck, which visually lowers the profile and ties the decks together. Large sections of glass wrap around the superstructure, so interior spaces maintain strong outward visibility while the exterior keeps a clean, horizontal emphasis.
Decks are arranged with clear separation between social and operational areas. The aft decks on each level provide open space for seating and dining, while the upper levels step back to create sheltered zones. Wide side decks support safe movement forward, and the bridge deck overhang gives protection to the main deck aft.
The upper decks are shaped for extended time outside, with space allocated for lounging, dining, and open-air use. The overall layout reads as practical rather than decorative, with each deck level given a defined purpose. Toward the stern, the lower deck integrates access to water-level areas, supporting tender use and water activity, while also linking into storage and service zones.
