Design & Construction

Designed around a semi-displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 7.6m beam and a 2.25m draft. The yacht is built over 2 decks with an internal volume of 280 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Exterior Design

Ambar is a 36.6m (120ft) Sanlorenzo SL120 Asymmetric motor yacht, built in 2022 with exterior design by Zuccon International Project. The SL120A platform is defined by its asymmetric layout, where the side deck shifts to port, so the main deck gains extra internal volume to starboard without increasing overall beam.

The profile is sharp and directional, with a long, clean sheerline and deep bands of dark glazing that stretch across the superstructure. Angular cut-outs through the hull and superstructure break up the volume, so the yacht keeps a low, fast stance despite a gross tonnage of around 280GT. The bow is fine and aggressive, and the superstructure tapers cleanly aft into layered deck spaces.

Deck areas are arranged to support both speed and social use. The foredeck is set up as a lounge with sunpads and seating, while the main deck aft provides shaded dining with direct access to the saloon. Above, the flybridge sits under a hardtop and combines multiple zones, including sunpads, lounge seating and a bar, so it works as a full-day outdoor space.

At the stern, the beach club integrates with the tender garage and opens out toward the water. Fold-down sections extend the usable deck area, and the layout keeps the connection between sea level and the main deck simple and direct. Teak decking runs throughout, while stabilisers operate both underway and at anchor, and a bow thruster supports close-quarters handling.

Interior Design

The interior of the Sanlorenzo SL120 Asymmetric Ambar follows a modern Italian approach from Zuccon International Project, with a focus on proportion, light and open circulation rather than heavy detailing.

The asymmetric layout has the biggest impact here. By removing the starboard side deck, the main saloon gains extra width, so the space feels noticeably broader than a typical 36.6m (120ft) yacht. Full-height windows run along both sides, and a starboard fold-out balcony opens the room further, so the connection to the water stays constant.

The saloon is arranged as a continuous living space. A large lounge area with L-shaped seating flows into the dining area without hard separation, while the dining space sits to port to keep a sense of structure within the open plan. Furniture is low and contemporary, so sightlines remain clear across the full beam.

Up on the upper level, the raised pilothouse is set up for proper passage-making, with clear visibility and a functional helm layout. Behind it, the flybridge lounge carries the same open feel as the main deck, with direct access to outdoor seating and bar areas.

Accommodation

Ambar accommodates up to 10 guests across five cabins, with a layout built around a full-beam owner’s suite on the main deck.

The owner’s suite sits forward and benefits from separation from guest and crew traffic. It includes a king-size bed, seating area, walk-in wardrobe and a his-and-hers en suite bathroom. Large forward and side windows bring in natural light, and direct access toward the foredeck adds another layer of privacy.

On the lower deck, four guest cabins complete the layout, each with en suite facilities. The mix supports flexible guest arrangements, and the use of large hull windows keeps the lower deck cabins bright and connected to the water.

Crew accommodation is for six, arranged separately to maintain clear service routes. This supports both private use and charter operation without overlap between guest and crew areas.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel MTU (16V 2000 M96L) 2,637hp engines, motor yacht Ambar is capable of reaching a top speed of 27 knots, and comfortably cruises at 23 knots. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.
