Design & Construction

Designed around a semi-displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 8m beam and a 2.15m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 337 GT (Gross Tonnes).

This was the first yacht built on the Moonen 122 Martinique design. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in June 2018 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in July 2018.

Exterior Design

Brigadoon's profile is upright and purposeful, with a high, rounded bow and a long waterline that runs cleanly into a broad stern. The hull uses high-tensile AH36 steel, which allows for reduced weight without sacrificing strength, and supports her top speed of 16.5 knots alongside a range close to 3,900 nautical miles.

The superstructure carries a wide-body form, which pushes volume out to the full beam and creates noticeably broader side decks and companionways. Long bands of glazing run along the main and upper decks, bringing light inside while keeping the exterior lines low and continuous. The white hull is broken by a fine black boot stripe at the waterline, giving definition without adding visual weight.

Deck spaces are arranged with a clear separation between function and guest use. The foredeck is simple and open, finished in teak with raised guardrails and built-in seating that faces forward. Aft on the main deck, a shaded dining area sits close to the saloon, with banquette seating and loose chairs arranged around a central table.

The upper deck extends into a long, open aft terrace that works as the main outdoor living space. This area links directly to the upper saloon through large sliding glass sections, forming a continuous inside-outside zone often described as a winter garden. Loose Linley furniture, a central table and an outdoor cinema setup define the space, while the deck remains uncluttered when tenders are launched via the starboard crane.

Above, the sun deck is arranged for relaxed use. Built-in seating runs across the aft beam, facing forward toward a raised spa pool set into the deck, with teak steps leading up. A hardtop supported by dark columns provides shade over the central section, while the bar is left open for direct guest use rather than fixed service.

At the stern, twin staircases from the main deck lead down to a deep swim platform. Shell doors open out to create access for watercraft and tender operations, while the platform itself forms a direct connection to the sea.

Interior Design

The interior by Studio Indigo builds on Nauta Design’s original framework, keeping the structure clean and architectural while softening it with more tactile materials. The approach avoids heavy detailing, instead using texture and tone to shape each space.

The main saloon sits within three sides of near full-height glazing, which keeps the space bright throughout the day. Furnishings are loose and residential in feel, with Holly Hunt sofas and Giorgetti armchairs arranged around a central table, set over a textured rug that ties the palette together. Leather, corduroy and soft fabrics are used in combination, which gives the room a practical edge as well as comfort.

Forward of the saloon, the dining area sits on the same axis, with a custom table aligned across the beam. The layout remains open, so movement between spaces feels natural without formal separation.

Mid-tone woods run through the joinery, balanced by cream wall panels and lighter flooring. Blue accents appear in small details such as lamps and artwork, adding variation without shifting the overall tone. Lighting and metal finishes in nickel and gunmetal introduce sharper edges to what is otherwise a soft palette.

The upper deck saloon takes a different approach. Large sliding glass sections allow the space to open fully to the aft deck, so teak flooring continues inside and the boundary between interior and exterior disappears. Furniture here is lighter and more flexible, built around loose seating and a central table, with a vintage-style approach that suits casual use.

Accommodation

Brigadoon accommodates up to 8 guests across four cabins, with a layout that places the owner on the main deck and guests below.

The owner’s suite sits forward on the main deck and uses the full beam. The bed is arranged facing aft rather than forward, which alters the sense of space and view. The suite includes a dressing area and a large ensuite bathroom, with materials and finishes matching the rest of the yacht.

On the lower deck, four guest cabins are arranged around a central lobby. Two are doubles and two are twins, each with its own ensuite. The design introduces variation through wall panels and materials, including sections of pale horsehair that break up the wood surfaces. Artwork from the owner’s collection adds character across all cabins.

Crew accommodation is positioned separately with space for up to 7, allowing service to run without crossing guest areas.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (C-32) 1,925hp engines, motor yacht Brigadoon is capable of reaching a top speed of 17 knots, and comfortably cruises at 14 knots. With her 38,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 4,000 nautical miles at 10 knots. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.
