Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 8m beam and a 2.1m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 337 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Construction started in late 2020. This was the fourth yacht built on the Moonen 122 Martinique design. Launched in December 2022 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in March 2023.

Exterior Design

Cocoon, the fourth yacht in Moonen's renowned Martinique series, has grown to 37.8m (124ft) thanks to a 1.5m (5ft) extension to the swim platform. Built in steel and aluminium, she carries the family traits of wide-body form and generous volume, with strong guardrails, wide walkways, and high freeboard giving a reassuring sense of scale.

Her exterior lines are sharpened by a striking anthracite paint finish, a bold step away from the traditional white hulls of her predecessors. The tall, rounded bow leads aft to a practical teak foredeck with open fairleads and a working character, while portholes set into the lower deck bring natural light deep inside. At the stern, twin staircases descend to the deep bathing platform, now equipped with a fully integrated hydraulic Z-lift for tender and toy launch.

The sun deck stretches to 65 sq/m (700 sq/ft) and offers shade beneath the mast canopy, which is supported by slim anthracite columns picked out with black highlights. The deck is set up for sociable use, with the option of a Jacuzzi, an open-air lounge on the bridge deck below, and space to enjoy the views. A stairway on the port side links down to the lower decks, while a launching crane sits aft on starboard for easy handling of equipment. Tender storage is well considered too, with a garage for a 5.7m tender and space for two jet skis on the bow of the main deck.

Interior Design

Inside, Cocoon carries a fully customised Scandinavian design by Andreas Martin-Löf Arkitekter, the Swedish studio’s debut motor yacht project. The main salon, glimpsed in the first official image, shows a calm and tactile palette: cream walls and ceiling, wooden flooring layered with a patterned rug, and relaxed lounge furniture. Costela chairs by Tacchini and a large curved oatmeal sofa shape a soft, inviting feel, while retro pieces and bespoke fittings add character without fuss.

Accommodation

Accommodation has been increased to 12 guests across 5 suites. The owner’s stateroom spans the full beam, complemented by two VIPs and two further guest cabins. Crew arrangements are generous, with space for 7, including a captain’s cabin on the bridge deck and notably roomy crew quarters.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (C-32) 1,925hp engines, motor yacht Cocoon is capable of reaching a top speed of 16 knots, and comfortably cruises at 14 knots. With her 35,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 4,000 nautical miles at an economic speed of 10 knots.

Amenities

The yacht features a tender garage with storage for a range of toys and accessories. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort. Crowning the yacht is a spacious sundeck with an inviting spread of sunpads.
