Design & Construction
Designed around a semi-displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 6.9m beam and a 2.13m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 254 GT (Gross Tonnes).
She was completed at Benetti's Viareggio yard in Italy where she was commissioned and delivered to her owners.
Exterior Design
DXB is a 35m (114.8ft) Benetti Classic 115 delivered in 2003, and Stefano Righini’s exterior still gives her a very recognisable early 2000s Benetti profile. The bow is long and finely raked, the white GRP hull carries a pronounced sheer, and the superstructure rises through three substantial guest levels before reaching the sun deck. Long runs of dark glazing break up the height, and from the side the yacht looks slimmer than the amount of accommodation inside would suggest.
The main deck aft is a broad covered terrace with a large dining table and direct access into the saloon. Above it, the upper deck adds a second outdoor dining and lounge area immediately outside the skylounge, so the two principal interior rooms each have their own adjoining exterior space. It is an older style of tri deck planning, but it still works very well when a full guest party is aboard because people can spread out without disappearing to opposite ends of the yacht.
The sun deck is one of DXB’s strongest outdoor areas. It has been arranged around a large seating zone, wet bar, dining space, chaise longues and a Jacuzzi, with a substantial section under shade. The teak deck was renewed as part of the yacht’s more recent works, and the overall layout gives this level enough room to function as a proper daytime social deck instead of simply somewhere to lie in the sun.
Aft on the lower level, twin stairways drop towards the swim platform and transom garage. The garage carries the tender and a sizeable watersports inventory, while the platform gives guests an easy starting point for swimming and toy launches once everything is out. It is a more traditional stern than the giant beach clubs fitted to newer 35m yachts, but the arrangement keeps tender operations neatly contained and leaves the upper terraces free for guests.
The foredeck is largely given over to anchoring and mooring equipment, preserving the classic layout of the Benetti 115. Together with the long bow and layered aft decks, it gives DXB the slightly shipshape feel that suits the model.
Interior Design
DXB’s interior was originally designed by Zuretti and now has a much richer, more decorative character than many contemporary yachts of similar size. High gloss cherry toned timber, polished surfaces and pale upholstery give the rooms warmth, while later styling introduced Hermès pieces through the main interior and Ralph Lauren details in the upper saloon.
The main saloon is arranged as a large open living room with generous seating and panoramic windows on both sides. Formal dining sits farther forward, close to the galley and service areas, so the deck can handle anything from family meals to larger charter gatherings without forcing guests into one fixed setup.
The upper saloon has been turned into a more relaxed cinema and TV room, with additional seating, a desk, pantry and bar. It gives the yacht a very different second interior space from the main saloon below, which is useful on longer trips when different groups want different things from the evening.
Accommodation
DXB accommodates up to 10 guests in five ensuite cabins, with the full beam owner’s suite forward on the main deck and four guest cabins below.
The owner’s suite is particularly generous for a 35m (114.8ft) yacht of this era. A king size bed sits within a broad cabin that also includes a sofa and plenty of storage, while the full beam bathroom has both a bathtub and separate shower.
Four further guest cabins occupy the lower deck, arranged as two doubles with queen size beds and two twins. Each has its own bathroom, and the arrangement works equally well for couples, families or charter groups.
Crew accommodation is separated forward, with space for up to seven across four cabins. The layout keeps the service side of the yacht away from the main guest accommodation and gives the crew direct access to the galley and working spaces.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (3412E) 1,400hp engines, motor yacht DXB is capable of reaching a top speed of 14 knots, and comfortably cruises at 11 knots. With her 35,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 3,200 nautical miles at 12 knots. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.
