Design & Construction
Designed around a planing fiberglass hull and a carbon fibre superstructure she features a 7.87m beam and a 2.29m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 299 GT (Gross Tonnes).
This was the first yacht built on the Riva 130 Bellissima design. Launched in July 2022 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in August 2022.
Exterior Design
Janus Navem is the yacht that introduced the Riva 130 Bellissima, and the proportions are a big part of why the model works. At 40m (131.2ft), she is Riva’s first planing flybridge with three proper decks, yet the profile still has the low, stretched look the brand is known for. The wide-body main deck gives her plenty of volume without pushing the superstructure too far upwards.
Officina Italiana Design uses three strong horizontal lines to organise the profile. The counter-curved windscreen sits high and forward, the long black hull glazing rises towards the bow, and another dark band runs through the main deck. Carbon fibre, steel and glass do much of the visual work, with air intakes and carbon detailing adding a faint automotive flavour around the aft sections.
The stern is one of the best bits. More than 60m² (645.8ft²) is shared between the cockpit and lower beach area, so the aft end feels much more open than the usual high transom arrangement. The beach club sits close to the water, with steps down from the cockpit and a broad bathing platform below.
Forward, Janus Navem has the optional Jacuzzi alongside a separate lounge, sunpad and dining space. It gives the bow a proper guest role rather than leaving it almost entirely to mooring gear, and the Jacuzzi has its own removable awning when shade is needed.
The upper deck aft is set up for dining and lounging, with a bar, refrigeration and television, while side passages create two more private terraces beside the sky lounge. Above it, the sundeck has several seating areas and another bar, so the three exterior levels have quite different uses rather than repeating the same furniture arrangement.
Interior Design
The main saloon is where Janus Navem feels most obviously like a much larger Riva. Ceiling height is over 2m (6.6ft), and the glazing wraps around the room to give roughly 270° of view.
Polished rosewood, white leather, marble and stainless steel carry much of the interior. The materials are rich, but the large windows stop the darker timber from taking over. Two white leather sofas face one another in the saloon, with rosewood cabinetry behind them and a drop-down 55in television overhead.
The formal dining area sits further forward around a glass table for ten. Full-height doors on both sides can open, which is a lovely detail because the dining room is not dependent on the aft doors alone for air and views. Mirrored storage cabinets sit to port and starboard, with wine storage worked into one side, while a glass bulkhead keeps the staircase visible ahead.
The sky lounge above follows the same general material mix but is a little more relaxed, with facing white leather sofas, a 75in television and large side windows. Doors open directly onto the side decks as well as the aft terrace.
Accommodation
Janus Navem accommodates up to 10 guests in five suites.
The owner’s suite is forward on the main deck and makes full use of the wide-body layout. There is a separate study, a reading area, walk-in wardrobe and additional storage, while the bedroom has a queen berth and large hull-side windows.
The bathroom arrangement is especially generous, with separate his-and-hers sides and a large central shower between them. Janus Navem also has a mini-fridge in the suite, upgraded 65in television and additional lockable storage worked into the entrance area.
Four guest cabins sit on the lower deck around a broad central lobby. Three are doubles, while the fourth can switch between twins and a double and also has a Pullman berth. All have en suite bathrooms, large hull windows, desks and substantial wardrobe space.
Crew accommodation is for up to seven. Three crew cabins sit forward on the lower deck, while the captain has a separate cabin immediately behind the wheelhouse. Crew areas include their own mess, refrigeration, laundry with twin professional washers and dryers, and a utility room.
Performance & Capabilities
Twin MTU 16V2000 M96L diesels produce 2,638hp each and give motor yacht Janus Navem a top speed of around 22 knots, with a cruising speed of about 20 knots.
That is useful pace for a 40m (131.2ft) yacht approaching 300GT, and it suits the Bellissima’s planing hull rather than trying to make the boat behave like a slower displacement superyacht.
At fast cruising speed, the quoted range is around 360 nautical miles. Janus Navem carries 17,000 litres of fuel.
The machinery specification goes well beyond the engines. Two Seakeeper 35 gyros work alongside zero-speed fin stabilisers, while hydraulic bow and stern thrusters help with close-quarter manoeuvring. Twin generators were upgraded to 90kW each, and additional air conditioning was specified for the engine room, garage and rudder room.
The bridge is equally well equipped, with twin ultra-wide Boning displays, additional touchscreens, Furuno radar, FLIR cameras looking forward and aft, TimeZero navigation, AIS and extensive camera coverage around the yacht.
Leisure & Entertainment
Janus Navem’s outdoor spaces are spread across three levels rather than concentrated at the stern.
The beach club and cockpit account for more than 60m² (645.8ft²), with another bar on the main deck aft. The foredeck adds the optional Jacuzzi, lounge and sunbathing area, while the upper deck has alfresco dining and its own bar.
The sundeck is more informal, with a large sectional lounge, forward bench seating, a circular cushioned chair and two separate bar areas with refrigeration and ice makers. There is also a large outdoor television.
Thirty underwater lights run along the hull and stern, which gives the yacht quite a presence after dark without changing any of the deck layout itself.
Tenders
Tender storage has been pushed into the port side of the hull. Janus Navem carries a Williams 565 jet tender, a Sea-Doo RXP-X 300 and SeaBobs without giving up the main aft deck to them, and the garage has its own electro-hydraulic launching systems.
