Design & Construction
Designed around a planing GRP hull and superstructure she features a 7.41m beam and a 2.16m draft. The yacht is built over 2 decks with an internal volume of 236 GT (Gross Tonnes).
This was the twelfth yacht built on the Predator 115 design. Launched in May 2013 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in June 2013.
Exterior Design
Maoro is a Sunseeker 115 Sport Yacht with the kind of sharp, low profile that made this series such a hit when it launched. Even at 34.53m (113.3ft), the yacht keeps the stance of a much smaller performance boat. The hull sits low over the water with a long pointed bow, deeply swept glazing and a roofline that barely seems to rise above the main deck.
From the photo, the black hull glazing is one of the strongest parts of the design. The long dark window band cuts through the white topsides in one clean sweep and visually lowers the yacht even further. Smaller hull windows beneath add depth to the profile while keeping the aggressive look intact.
The superstructure has Sunseeker’s classic sport yacht shape with a stretched roof arch flowing aft into the flybridge hardtop. There is very little visual bulk anywhere. Even the raised pilot house blends into the roofline instead of standing proud like a traditional tri-deck bridge.
The bow has a fast, almost automotive look with sharp angles around the windscreen and long stainless guardrails running forward over a broad foredeck lounge. Sunpads spread across the front section while seating tucked ahead of the windscreen creates a more sheltered social area underway.
Aft, the cockpit opens directly onto the swim platform and tender garage. The yacht carries a Williams 565 Dieseljet tender and the hydraulic platform lowers into the water for launching or swimming access. The fold-down sea balcony on the starboard side adds another standout feature, opening the saloon straight onto the sea through sliding patio doors.
The flybridge keeps the sporty feel but still packs in proper entertaining space. Maoro has the optional GRP hardtop, a Jacuzzi, wet bar, teak decking and shaded seating areas, all without spoiling the yacht’s low, flowing silhouette.
Interior Design
The interior uses a restrained, darker palette that suits the yacht’s sharp exterior lines. Black American walnut runs throughout the guest spaces with high-gloss finishes on the bulkheads and softer matt finishes underfoot to stop the space feeling heavy.
Dark Emperador marble adds contrast across counters and tables while large side windows bring in enough daylight to keep the interior bright.
The main saloon has an open layout with lounge seating aft and formal dining forward for up to 10 guests. Sliding aft doors and the fold-down balcony connect the whole space directly with the sea, especially when opened at anchor.
Entertainment systems are integrated throughout the yacht, including Samsung Smart TVs in every guest cabin, a 55-inch saloon television and HD satellite TV systems across the yacht.
The galley sits close to the crew area for efficient service and has been heavily upgraded with Gaggenau appliances, Miele professional equipment, added refrigeration and multiple wine storage areas including twin 40-bottle wine cellars in the saloon.
Accommodation
Maoro accommodates up to 10 guests across five ensuite cabins.
The owner’s suite sits on the main deck and benefits from large windows, blackout blinds and a calmer, more private position away from the lower guest accommodation.
Below deck are two aft double cabins and two twin cabins with sliding berths that convert into doubles when needed. All guest cabins include Samsung televisions, entertainment systems and ensuite bathrooms.
Crew accommodation supports up to six crew across three ensuite cabins with a separate crew mess and service area.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel MTU (16V 2000M94) 2,640hp engines, motor yacht Maoro is capable of reaching a top speed of 23 knots, and comfortably cruises at 17 knots. With her 20,550 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 1,250 nautical miles at 12 knots. Her planing hull design means she is fast and efficient as she slices through the water.
Amenities
Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort. Maoro also features deck jacuzzi which provides excellent views.
