Design & Construction

Designed around a full displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 10.4m beam and a 3.15m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 782 GT (Gross Tonnes).

The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards.

Exterior Design

Solace is a 57m (187.01ft) Feadship motor yacht with exterior lines by De Voogt. The profile follows a classic Feadship layout, with a fine entry at the bow, a long sheerline and a tiered superstructure that keeps the volume balanced across three main decks.

The hull carries evenly spaced portholes along the lower deck, while the main and upper decks use long bands of glazing to reduce visual height and bring light into the interior. The window shapes remain simple, which suits the yacht’s more traditional proportions.

Deck spaces are laid out with purpose. Full walkaround side decks on both the main and bridge levels allow clear movement fore and aft. The main deck aft and bridge deck aft both provide sheltered seating, while the bridge deck also handles al fresco dining.

The sundeck is arranged as the primary outdoor space, with a jacuzzi, sunpads and a shaded seating area grouped around the mast. An open-air gym sits to port on the upper deck, kept separate from the main guest areas.

At the stern, the extended transom creates a larger beach club area with direct water access, now fitted with a sauna and set up for regular use rather than occasional access.

M/Y Solace has a sun deck jacuzzi, elegant dining for 10, and accommodates 10 guests in pure comfort.

Interior Design

The interior combines the original layout work by Redman Whiteley Dixon with decoration by Todhunter Earle, later refreshed by Vickers Studio.

The design follows the brief for a space that feels like a private home rather than a formal yacht interior. Materials centre on wood, stone and soft furnishings, with a light base palette that keeps the rooms open and easy to live in over long periods.

The main saloon is arranged as a flexible living space, with multiple seating areas rather than a fixed layout. Large windows run the length of the room, bringing in natural light and maintaining a connection to the outside.

Forward, the formal dining room seats 10 guests, set within a defined space that still benefits from the same window lines. The layout keeps the transition between saloon and dining clear without closing the space off.

The sky lounge provides a second interior living area with more privacy and elevated views. Across the yacht, circulation remains simple, which reflects the original brief for long-term liveability rather than short-stay use.

Accommodation

Solace accommodates up to 10 guests in five cabins, with an additional supernumerary cabin on the bridge deck added during the refit.

The owner’s suite is positioned on the main deck and spans the beam, with a private study and lounge area included in the layout. Large windows on both sides bring in light across the full width.

Guest cabins are located on the lower deck, each with en suite bathrooms and consistent materials carried through from the main living spaces.

Crew accommodation supports extended operation, with layouts designed for long passages and expedition-style use.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (3512B Dita) 1,520hp engines, motor yacht Solace is capable of reaching a top speed of 15 knots, and comfortably cruises at 13 knots. With her 99,880 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 4,500 nautical miles at 12 knots. She has been fitted with stabilizers to increase on-board comfort when the yacht is at anchor, particularly in rough waters.

Amenities

A gym with all the latest equipment allows her guests to keep their workout routines while at sea. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort. Solace also features a deck jacuzzi for cooling off.
